What appeals you to the ship? Is it based off of canon interaction, personal headcanons, or are you not sure?

Ok so. they dont have any canon interactions. but obvs thats not stopping me. actually that seems to be my favorite kind of ship what does that say about me?

I could and actually have written an essay's worth of words about why I like all of the gh pairings, I'll say helenacasey specifically appeals to be as having this theoretically huge and i mean HUGE power differential but in practice they ended up being very similar people. I have made graphs about this shit. I wrote a fic exploring the matter.

They could be very good for each other, they could be terrible for each other. In the sense that they are some of the only people in the world who will truly understand each other, but Casey is a very appeasing timid person who would be very enabling of Helena's worst traits. There's also just the psychological mind fuck of it all but that is not particular to helenacasey, ofc.

Casey has pretty severe separation anxiety and would be clingy to an annoying degree, especially if she loses just a little bit of that kneejerk obedience training

If they're together all the time Casey ends up replicating Helena's disordered eating patterns because she literally doesnt know anything else and Helena's not even doing that to her on purpose

I think they could never make it work long term just the two of them there would have to be reintegration and if not they are very much doomed asf even if there is reintegration prob still doomed as all get out

Anyways I think gemmahellyna are incredibly complex and that for gemhelly, there are a lot of complexities there. Namely that final scene (their only interaction but I digress), where Helly spots Gemma and looks at her so… months later I still am not sure how I want to interpret it honestly. It was nothing nasty for sure, it was something curious. Pondering. Consider also her relationship with ms casey affecting how she viewed Gemma; it was the first time she had any interaction with ms casey’s outie after knowing what was happening to her (both of them). I’m sure there are some complicated feelings there, ESPECIALLY with her feelings on innie rights. Like she Definitely had a thought or two about ms casey’s rights (because they absolutely violated her rights beyond but that’s a whole new slightly upset rant)

If you want toxic: literally. Just put Helena Eagan and Gemma/Casey in a room and boom. Depending on what you’re feeling (Helena Scary As Shit Eagan Scaring casey ((that’s her Bosses Boss dude. She’d be shaking like a leaf. And would do absolutely anything that was asked of her without question.)) or Gemma You Kidnapped Me And Held Me Down There For Two Years And Destroyed My Entire Life Scout scaring Helena beyond anything she thought possible.) The toxic potential is THEREEEE and they are absolutely among the best toxic dynamics this show has to offer.
