In my humble opinion in that love triangle nobody has chemistry.
Tom-Phia-Ewan would have had a more believable love triangle.
In my no so humble opinion. S3 is so disjointed because is trying to fix the mess of s2. And what I mean by that.
In S2 because of writers strike Sara and Ryan had to much power and role with any bs. And S2 contradicted a lot of things S1 stablish. And what S1 stablish?
Aemond/Helaena/Aegon triangle ft Alys . And Alicole/Daemyra being foils to eo. Is so obvious because besides the set up. They clearly are casted intentionally to have chemistry to each other.
When we saw silvy in S1 they didn't hint as mommy issues thing. And looked like they didn't see eo for so long. But that was retcon in S2 so they could explore this homelander from wish plot.
But in S2 and don't know who ( probably Sara since she loved to humiliate Olivia and Alicent) had the idea of shift Helaena fron Alicent. And the ground is there. 99% of the problems of this season is because they are trying to fix or make it work what they set up in S2.
I do think they come around with some aspects but some fall short.
Criston and Alicent plot was erase too. Besides Fabien indirectly confirmed we saw set photos that they actually shared scenes later on the season.
But with Cole out. Alicent destroyed beyond repair they have to rise someone as daemyra antagonist foils and that is Ormund and Daeron role. Now they are struggling to fit her into the narrative again. Because she become to alien to it.
