Some assorted illustrations related to short stories that I have in the works - Kelly finally gets a proper story centric to him! Depending upon motivation and time, I may even write another one that takes place earlier in his timeline, but for now I'm pretty pleased with this one. The other jet is a character that also shows up within his story.

Part of my work right now is to dig into history, down a rabbit hole of clues and mystery. This includes the significance of horses and red deer to Indo-European peoples and how we can see that impact drip down into other cultures that descend from it.

Some random things I’ve learned along the way.

Horses were domesticated not once, but twice.

The last known “wild horse” breed is actually not wild at all. It was domesticated a long time ago and was ‘released,’ in a way similar to dingos. So it retains a lot of its wild, and ancient, features.

I posted the associated sketches just a little earlier, so here's the Kelly-centric short story! It was initially going to start out as a purely casual slice of life thing, but then I had to go and add
