I’m lost to tomodachi life, these are the Horizon Miis I’ve made so far 🏹✨
the big cheese, the head honcho, the man himself
when i showed my husband Horizon Forbidden West for the first time, the reaction i thought he’d have when seeing Aloy approach Hekarro for the first time was absolutely not it at all, and it makes me laugh a little at objectiveness when approaching media. because while yes Aloy has a very valid excuse for needing the kernel, and us as the audience knows why she needs it and what it’s for. but everyone else around her not in her immediate circle, nor those aware of the crisis like those out east, aren’t going to know “some redheaded savior of meridian might be running around doing important things. just trust she knows what she’s doing, and be cooperative.” because at least most of the populace out east knew of a general threat. but the people out west don’t.
because Hekarro was 110% valid in not agreeing to giving Aloy access to the kernel. i had to explain it to my husband like this: imagine someone coming up to your front door from another country and saying “hey so there’s this really important device in your basement; i can’t really go into details right now as to why i need it but just trust me bro. i’ll grab it real quick and the thing im using it for is completely going to save a lot of trouble for you in the near future.” you’re going to think they’re probably a little crazy, but also you’d want more context as to the why, at the very least. bring me some newspapers, or prove to me you’re not here to swindle me or make a fool of me.
and quite honestly, i think more people needed to tell aloy no. it’s a really thin line because human kind is at the risk of being wiped out, or at the very least in very imminent danger, so she has a reason to want to brute force her way to her resources. but not everyone is going to take you seriously or want to help if you don’t try to meet them in the middle and make allies and prove to them your motives and why you’re doing what you’re doing.
it’s part of the reason why i adore hekarros character so much.
