I never really get into shipping discourse, but here are the Alucard ships and my thoughts on them. And surprise! I have good things to say about all of them.
Trevorcard - this pairing is a good one, because it's the first moment Alucard acknowledges, and I think, accepts that a person can care about him despite his heritage. As in "let me help you find peace and comfort". Very friends to lovers vibes. I think it's sweet.
Alugrant - this one makes me giggle because I love the concept of frenemies to lovers. They would annoy the hell out of each other and then make-out to the confusion of others. And neither of them can explain why either. Feels like crackshipping but is it tho?
Hectorcard - this pairing is quite the vibe of "we both live in the same place, let's mess around" and it's fun. I also think they'd be good bonders over trauma.
Lyudcard - I usually prefer them friends, but I am obsessed with the idea of unrequited love they have for each other, but in the end, it's too late. Also we have legit vampire content happening with themes of possession and immortality. Very delicious for tragedy the most I fear.
Richtercard - I recall their conversations throughout GoS and I think it's remarkably similar to Trevorcard in the friends to lovers category. I still don't understand this one completely, but I can absolutely see the vision at least.
Mariacard - I have a particular soft spot for this one just because I can really see a lovely slowburn here. Maria helps teach him self-care and that he is allowed to be loved and to love where he is able. Very kind and sweet. Also has a feeling of a final love considering how Alucard becomes cold and distant Arikado in the future. Like it's the last time he'll allow these emotions to take serious root.
Alucard × Happiness - best one because he deserves it no matter the form of person or thing it takes.
If I forgot any, please add on!! Something I see often is how a person likes one ship and rabidly hates on the others. They all have potential, so please stop slandering them and just appreciate them all. It's not hard.
