It’s been a while… but I came bearing gifts. (Sorry if these looked rushed I haven’t had the time to draw lately)

When I’m in a freak off but my next opponent is Medic from TF2! (Honestly, his design turn out the best and is my favorite)

Main PSI Ability: Clairvoyance, like a really invasive form of clairvoyance where not only can he see how you see the world but also how you feel, how you listen, and experience things like pain or discomfort. Medic claims to only use it to help get a better idea of his test subjects patients are feeling to better treat them. Yeah. We all know that’s not true. He just likes being a nosy and invasive man, don’t trust his ass. Secondary, would be mostly regular Telekinesis to help get his operating equipment and not have to ask others for assistance. He doesn’t have a lot of psychic abilities since he’s not a very powerful psychic (more on that below) but he really good with those two things.

Backstory: Not born a psychic at all, just really strange nonetheless. He lived most of his life normally, well, as normal as Medic was. He did well in school, got his Doctors license, even help made some really important discoveries in his field.

He worked in a hospital and was rather respective and slightly feared. Liked to hang out with his birds and play violin for them. After a while in his field, he started to notice the more interesting patients. Usually, the head doctor at the hospital were meant to call into a strange organization if a patient was experiencing a certain set of symptoms and passed some tests. Those special patients only stayed for a couple days before they were collected. The organization was called the Psychonauts, he thinks?

The Doctor found it all… curious. All when he gets curious, there’s no turning back. Ground that day on he used his spare time to study psychics. Medic always knew that the human brain is such a fascinating and complex tool, and he wanted to learn it. So, he did what it says in the medical books: meditation, extreme mental exercises, even some very physical procedures on himself to by chance unlock that part of his mind. After years of nothing, he decided to give up. Scoffing at all the time and effort he lost.

But here’s the thing… it was working and soon he began to hear voices… other people’s thoughts, unfiltered, loud, CONSTANTLY. And it drove him MAD. He couldn’t work, sleep, have a moment of silence to himself! This slurry of events caused a now incredibly crazed, delusional, and delirious doctor to perform the infamous act that lead to him to lose his medical license by stealing a patient’s skeleton and driving away in a stolen ambulance. While somewhere between laughing like an utter madman and begs for the voices to be quiet.

Soon, after driving for what felt like hours, Medic pulled to side of an empty road to catch his breath, only to realized the voices had stopped. It was quiet again. And that when it hit him. It worked… He’s a psychic. He could read minds…So much to learn, so much to process, he must figure out what he could do now!

Well, he would have done that, until the police finally caught up with him. Medic pleaded insanity, he couldn’t help himself but soon he was in jail for the night! The police allowed him a phone call and he was able to call up his superior to get him intact with The Psychonauts. The Psychonauts did come through and was able to assist him with the case after he proved that he was experiencing psychic distress (whether he was actually sorry about the skeleton stealing or not is up to debate). Medic was able to escape jail but he lost his licenses and his job at the hospital.

It was rough for him, dealing with these changes and having seemingly no where to go… until, he revived a letter in the mail. The Psychonauts were hiring. They could teach him, give him resources, let him work as he wants, and let him be up and more personal with more psychics. So, he accepted and placed on the specialized force of psychic: Team Fortress.

Medic now lives near the Motherlobe and works a lot with Mr. Sasha Nein in a semi-shared lab. No longer bound by medical code and ready to figure out people outside and in.

HEADCANON SEGMENT:

🏥Medic was very much a late bloomer when it came to his psychic abilities (Medic is like 50 in my head during this headcanon and the event that got him his psychic abilities was during his early-forties), so he’s not very powerful compared to those who had them since birth or during their formative years since that’s when most prominent psychic development starts. The Doctor was a little sad in away, he has a lot of catching up to do compared to his colleagues. Hell, even most of the kids in the Summer Camp can out pace him. But he can make up for it, he knows a lot about the human mind anyway.

🏥Though, despite being not a power psychic, he scares everybody through vibes alone.

🏥Really, REALLY, wants to learn how to use the Mental Connections ability. (Again, totally not for any bad reasons, he assures you.) Luckily, everyone universally agreed to not give him a tutorial how to. It’s better this way.

🏥Medic has now developed a very advanced form of PSI energy transfer that allows him to store psychic energy and lock it onto people (Ubering). It’s very effective in battle.

🏥May have actually help perform lobotomies on people during his early years as a doctor. During those days being psychic was seen as a bad thing. A problem to correct that only a icepick could help. He thought he was helping people. He now luckily has a different tune and even a little bit of guilt for his acts. He would still cut up someone and put in a baboon uterus for fun but wouldn’t dare touch a beautiful psychic mind like that unless necessary.

Idk, I just thought this would be fun and thought about this before I went to sleep myself. So yeah, enjoy.

🪖KIA🩵

🪖First of all, sleeps like a board and is really stiff but is also a very light sleeper. Like he could hear a pin drop and be jump for action. Kinda scary.

🪖Has a really precise and impressive internal clock from being in the V.A.C. Early riser and likes to get a move on as quickly as possible. In troubling times like this, they can’t afford to sleep in… not when so much is on the line.

🪖Probably sleeps shirtless, has like one pair of comfy, non-work pants that he wears to bed and that’s it. Bed is probably simple, only the basics and essential type of guy.

🪖Prefers to be big spoon but secretly enjoys the occasional little spoon treatment. KIA doesn’t let his guard down easy and being able to turn his back to someone and feel at ease is the ultimate sign of trust.

🪖Plus, having someone just wrap their arms around him is… soothing. Grounding. A brief moment of reprieve from the constant battle he finds himself fighting. He’ll just exhale, accept the embrace with a small “yeah…” and enjoy the moment while he still has it.

🥪Heavy Guy❤️

🥪Deep ass sleeper, kinda a loud snoring.

🥪Sleeps in pajamas pants and a tank top, occasionally bust out a matching 2-piece pajama set if he’s feel it.

🥪Big spoon most of the time but doesn’t mind any other position. Though is deeply afraid if he is spooning someone, that he’ll roll over them in his sleep and crush them. It’s best just to sleep on top of him instead. So, cuddle at your own risk. (Though, it’s most definitely worth it.)

🥪Very warm, like almost overwhelming. The big guy already generates a lot of heat when he’s awake but more when he sleeps. Which is great if it’s cold out.

🥪Heavy Guy has a big bed at home (he’s a big guy). Very inviting and very cozy. Probably has some nice fur blankets.

🥪Heavy doesn’t dream much but occasionally has visions or something? He doesn’t fully know himself. Sometimes he hears distant chanting, a orangey light beckonings him, a deep voice calls him name… Usually, if he has these dreams, he wakes up panic, heart racing, a bead of sweat down his forehead. He tends to wake up before these dreams ever truly reveal their true nature…

🥪But since he’s growing stronger in both body and soul with Crush, his dreams are becoming… louder. More clear. He hopes to figure it out soon but also fears what lays beyond his consciousness.

🏹Smoke🔥

🏹Has trouble sleeping. Strikes me as someone who can be rather restless. Likes to just stare out from their apartment, watching the night life goes by. It rarely helps.

🏹Has a King size bed and it’s kinda shitty. It was cheap and it creaks a lot! After they started to date Cinder, Smoke agrees that they need a new mattress.

🏹Can be big spoon or little spoon, doesn’t have a true preference but she does find big spooning comforting. Smokes favorite thing ever is just laying with her girl, Cinder. Spooning Cinder just reminds her that she’s there, just the two of them, no one else. And after the horror that she is now experiencing, it’s a good distraction and reminder of what’s worth fighting for.

🏹Loves lazy mornings too! Though, any time they get to be with Cinder is good. Just laying down in a warm bed, light trickling thru the window, no need to rush or get up, talking about what weird dream they had or scrolling through what dumb things their friends texted them.

🏹Not a morning person, at all. Groggy, doesn’t have the capacity to deal with anyone for the most part. Please, leave them alone and shut up for 20 minutes.

🏹Has a stuff animal from when they went to a carnival with Cinder. Cinder won it for her and Smoke keeps it on her bed, it’s their child now and they both decided to give it a very dumb name. Sometimes, if Cinder is far away doing a contract or something, Smoke finds it comforting to talk or hold it while they go to sleep. Cinder has a photo of this on their phone and uses it for some light teasing but ultimately thinks it’s very sweet.
