1500w 220v Premium Infrared Radiant Heater 1500W Halogen Electric Heater for Indoor Outdoor Villa Heating System
Fast‑Heating Infrared Heater Warm Your Space in Seconds
AIO about my partner using the space heater during an extreme heat warning?
My partner often complains of leg pain. They solve this with heat. In the winter they use a space heater. We live in the desert where the summers are often in the 110s. I have paid for a new AC and extra insulation to keep the house cool in the past few years and our electric bill is still over $200 a month. I keep all the shades down and I am very careful about closing doors to try and keep the electric bill down. Multiple times I have walked into the room and they have had the space heater blasting "for their legs." I bought them a heating pad and heated blanket so they don't have to heat an entire room with a space heater.
I have walked in twice this week to the space heater on full blast. I told them fine, but if I see them using the space heater and it's over 100° outside they have to pay the entire electric bill that month since we are paying for the space heater electricity and the extra burden on the air conditioner.
They said this is unfair and ridiculous. Am I overreacting?
Reddit consensus: NOT OVERREACTING (NOR) (96% confidence)
Top comment: “NOR. No reason not to be using the heating pads
Just dumb”
Notable comment: “NOR, but perhaps a better solution could be found. What room is your partner heating? Is it a small office while they WFH? Or is it the living room?
Keeping the heat contained to a small room where the AC is blocked as much as possible, with some additional insulation/sealing around the door, well something like that might be a compromise. It’s unreasonable to heat a room that the two of you share. If you both WFH and share an office, this might mean that you work from elsewhere in the house.
Also, if your partner is that comfortable in such heat, why don’t they just move their activity outdoors?”
Do you agree with Reddit’s consensus?
Yes
No
I don't know

How Long Do Solar Hot Water Systems Last?
Investing in renewable energy for your home brings up a major question: How long does a solar water heater actually last?
On average, a dependable solar thermal setup delivers hot water for 15 to 25 years. When properly maintained, these eco-friendly appliances easily outlive conventional gas and electric water heaters, which typically top out at 10 to 12 years.
Because a solar hot water heater consists of multiple parts, individual components wear down at different speeds. Understanding these lifespans helps you maximize your return on investment.
Component-by-Component Durability Guide
Solar Collectors (Flat-Plate or Evacuated Tubes): Built tough with tempered glass and aluminum frames, these rooftop units commonly last 20 to 30 years or more.
Storage Tanks: The central water reservoir typically lasts 10 to 20 years, depending heavily on water chemistry and maintenance.
Pumps and Electronic Controllers: Active solar systems rely on moving parts that usually require replacement every 5 to 7 years.
Valves (Temperature-Pressure Relief and Mixing Valves): Safety valves endure harsh thermal stress and generally need servicing or replacement every 5 to 7 years.
Heat Exchangers: These devices transfer thermal energy safely into your domestic water supply, averaging a 10 to 15 year lifespan.

Key Variables Impacting System Longevity
Water Hardness: High mineral content (calcium and magnesium) causes severe scale accumulation inside the storage tank and heat exchanger. Without flushing, sediment chokes thermal performance and accelerates corrosion.
Climate and Weather Extremes: Freezing winter temperatures can easily burst exposed pipes and thermal collectors if your setup lacks a reliable drain-back mechanism or proper anti-freeze solutions like propylene glycol. On the flip side, harsh ultraviolet radiation steadily breaks down exterior insulation and rubber seals over time.
Maintenance Consistency: Proactive servicing prevents minor issues—like a failing anode rod or a worn pump—from turning into catastrophic system failures.
Best Practices to Extend Your System's Lifespan
Inspect and Replace the Anode Rod: Check this sacrificial metal rod every 1 to 2 years. Replacing it when it corrodes prevents your steel tank from rusting from the inside out.
Flush the Tank Annually: Draining a few gallons of water through the sediment valve clears out damaging mineral buildup.
Service Glycol Fluid: If you use a closed-loop system, test the freeze protection and pH balance of your heat-transfer fluid every 3 to 5 years.
Schedule Professional Tune-Ups: Have a certified solar technician inspect system pressure, electrical sensors, and mechanical pumps every few years to keep efficiency at its peak.

Jupiter solar water heater systems have earned a strong reputation as high-performance, eco-friendly heating solutions designed to significantly cut down electricity and gas utility costs. Built to capture thermal energy with exceptional efficiency, these units utilize advanced Evacuated Tube Collector (ETC) technology. This design optimizes sunlight absorption, allowing the system to deliver a consistent supply of hot water even on overcast days or during cooler seasonal shifts.
A major advantage of Solar water heater systems lies in their durable tank engineering, which frequently features heavy-duty glass-lined inner coatings or premium stainless-steel construction. These specialized interior barriers protect the storage reservoir against aggressive corrosion and mineral scale buildup, especially in hard-water regions. By safeguarding vulnerable metal parts from premature decay, these protective measures help the appliance achieve a remarkably long service life.
Offered in a broad range of capacities—from compact residential models to large commercial systems exceeding 500 liters—Jupiter heaters accommodate diverse hot water demands. Combined with weather-resistant rooftop mountings and minimal upkeep requirements, these sustainable appliances provide reliable daily performance while helping homeowners drastically reduce their carbon footprint.
