How can heartworm disease in dogs be prevented effectively?
Learning about heartworm disease in dogs was a real wake-up call for me. Apparently, the main cause is a parasite spread by mosquito bites. I was shocked to realize that a tiny mosquito could carry worms that invade a dog’s heart and lungs, creating serious health risks if ignored. It made me more mindful about keeping my dog away from mosquito-heavy areas. I was especially surprised to learn that dogs don’t catch heartworms from other dogs directly it’s all mosquito-driven. Once bitten, the larvae enter their bloodstream and start developing. With this knowledge, I feel more responsible for preventive care, making sure my dog stays on heartworm medication and receives regular vet visits.
