Friday, April 11 2014 - Heartbleed status
As you have probably already heard, earlier this week a bug in OpenSSL was disclosed and fixed. The bug is known as Heartbleed and allows an attacker to remotely read raw memory from a web server using OpenSSL to serve TLS-encrypted traffic. Learn more about the Heartbleed bug
Picturelife's Response to Heartbleed
Much like the majority of sites that make use of OpenSSL for their SSL/TLS, we were exposed to the Heartbleed vulnerability. However, we leverage Amazon Web Services for our infrastructure - as a result, we were not vulnerable for long after the extremely major and extremely widespread announcement was made. You can read more on Amazon's Security Bulletin. Additionally, we have rotated our SSL certificates.
What you should do
As most other news outlets suggest, we recommend that you change your Picturelife login password. To be clear - we have no reason to believe that any of your information was compromised, but we do believe that it's better to be safe than sorry. Change your Picturelife password:
Reset your password from a logged in Picturelife account
Request password reset while NOT logged in
