it is nearly 1am and i have decided that now is the time to create a perfume through tumblr polls. if you don't see a favorite note here, i may be keeping it for a future frankenstein perfume poll. this is really a love letter to the purple prose of perfume copy and the world-building of indie perfumes. as such, i will create a fake perfume launch for our creation once our poll is done. please note that perfume is intended as a gender neutral term!

Percy is an old friend
A couple of days back, I ordered some books off of amazon. They happen to be arriving today and every so often, I catch myself getting excited when the doorbell rings.
I order books quite often but this time, the feeling is weird. Along with some other volumes, the first part of Heroes of Olympus is arriving. I know I am a little too old to be reading that (too!) but this was a long time pending. In the past, I have loved Percy Jackson- not as a lover but as a friend. I met him at the age of 12 and over the course of rick riordan’s series, I developed a bond with him. I see him as an old friend- one who accompanied me on glorious adventures and who I share a long history with. I feel that Percy knows me, understands me, just as well as I believe I understand him.
No wonder I am so excited this time around as my books arrive. I feel like some old friends are coming home. I, for one, am excited and anxious to meet them after all this time- hoping that they haven't changed much and wondering how much I have changed since our last adventure!
