Thanks for the reassurance @healthyontheinside! I should know better than to google these things but found so many 4w1d levels way higher than mine. You are right- itās not the number itself that matters but the doubling.
Goodlife Victoria Marathon - Race Recap Replies
@seechrisrun said: Others already mentioned it, but donāt underestimate how much being sick the week of the marathon can affect you. I remember catching something before Boston 2010. I was run/walking by 13 and wondering why I was so gassed so early
Youāre right. I guess because I have run sick before and I felt a lot better during the marathon than I have in the past, I assumed I was actuallyĀ āhealthyā during the race thanks to all the vitamins I took in the days leading up to it. But then I got sick the next day and havenāt been able to shake it all week, so maybe it was a factor after all.Ā
@healthyontheinside said: Proud of you! Running a marathon at any pace is awesome xxx
Thank you! <3 Now that I look back, I realize I didnāt give running a marathon enough credit in the moment. A couple of years ago, I was convinced that I was incapable of training for and running a marathon uninjured. Lots to be thankful for. :)Ā
@robert-cal said: Itās still a big accomplishment to finish. But being sick is not possible to run a marathon well. You are already taxing the limits. I am surprised that the course was hilly. The race elevation profile is misleading.
Totally agree on the race elevation profile being confusing. But I have never really been one to visualize flat vs. hilly when I see a course elevation profile. I typically take the race websiteās word for it, or read other peopleās race recaps for the course to know for sure. That seems like a safer bet.Ā
@runningonredbull said: Oh we could be twins! I had a 3:45 goal for Chicago and ended at 4:01 too. I run elevations like that here in KC and they are no joke. I donāt get people who think hills are no big deal! Way to push through to the finish and donāt give up on BQ!
We should have just run a marathon together. :) Iām definitely not giving up. In fact, Iām already dreaming about my next race. Hope your recovery is going well!Ā
@ariavie said: You do have it in you to BQ. Running while sick is SO HARD mentally. Recover, regroup, and try again. (It took me 4 real attempts at a BQ before I got mine.) Congrats on toughing it out!Ā
Thank you you so much for your supportive words! I have a feeling it will take me a number of tries, too, but Iām feeling okay with it. Itās a journey and it will make that BQ - if and when I get it - SO much sweeter. :)Ā
For those of you who don't know, this time last week I decided to give up on one of the things I have grown to love and eventually become addicted too.... Coffee! 1 week down and so far it's going great :) my energy levels have increased and although I seem to get hungrier this warm weather is making juice a super easy go to! #detox #coffee #energy #feelgood #healthyontheinside #health #healthychoices #caffeinefree
53, 77 and 101!
53. Favourite makeup brand?
Hmmm At this point in my life (the super broke phase), I donāt really have a favorite brand. I kinda just buy what I can afford and pray it doesnāt make my sensitive skin breakout. I love makeup though. I watch numerous Youtube videos in hopes of trying out new things!
77. Chocolate or Vanilla?
I am definitely a vanilla girl. Shockingly, I donāt really like chocolate that much. I usually get sick from it. If I do have it, it has to have peanut butter or nuts with it like a Reeceās Peanut Butter Cup or Hersheyās Almond Bar. Even then Iāll only eat a portion and give the rest away.
101. Do you type fast?
I would like to say that I type pretty quickly. Iām probably the fastest typer in my family, but thatās not saying much so I guess Iām an average typer. Thatās if weāre talking computer typing. If we mean cell phone typing, I typeĀ ridiculouslyĀ slow. I was so happy when iPhone got the Swift keyboard where you swipe your text. Iād never text anyone back without it.
Thanks for the QuestionsĀ healthyontheinside

The last thing I felt good about accomplishing was the 16km (10 mile) hike I did last weekend š - I like to celebrate the NSV's these days! What about you? - what was the last thing you've felt good at accomplishing?
Ah, thatās amazing!! Thatās a definite goal of mine and I congratulate you for accomplishing it! :D
My biggest accomplishment so far was driving through Dallas-Forth Worth for the first time! Iāve always been a nervous driver, so I never thought itād be something Iād be able to do.Ā
