#headcanon stuff

Writing long fics and having to deal with so much at once is hard. So have some stuff about Formaghia but it’s the both of them having this brotherly dynamic. This is inspired by how in 2 plushie releases for Golden Wind characters including La Squadra, both Ghiaccio and Formaggio can be found in the same volume.

Hence why I had placed them months apart in the same age year. Including how they wear striped pants, had the strongest reactions to Sorbet and Gelatos deaths and an actual bit of food knowledge I know when making this joke-

Ghiaccio: THAT MAKES NO SENSE! We can’t even be twins if it was genetically possible because it’s not! You’re named after cheese and my name is literally ICE! One’s part of dairy production and the other is a state of temperature!

Formaggio: Yeah but you can make mozzarella with an ice bath

Ghiaccio:

Risotto is the one La Squadra member I feel is too big of a character to put into one origin fanfic so his backstory and characterization is spread out across the ones I have in progress, completed and planned out. He is the only one with a canon backstory and nearly defeated Diavolo if it wasn’t for the plot and how he got over eager at the end.

Once again I’d like to talk about it both serious and unserious. (Though warning for discussions of self destructive behavior such as self harm and purposely getting into dangerous situations)

Risotto doesn’t have any connection with his parents and knows nothing other than they were mentally unstable to the point where his cousin and his wife arranged to take him in when he was a baby.

Risotto considers his cousin and his wife as his parents though and calls them his aunt and uncle. His aunt is deaf therefore he had learned and communicated sign language through her

Risotto and Polpo are biological uncle and nephew but their relationship is strained to say the least. He barely knew him growing up because his cousin didn’t want him to know about his illegal endeavors but it was how Polpo reacted to his second cousins death (carrying out like nothing happened to push grief away) that made Risotto resent him

After he entered underground crime, he was too ashamed of what he had became where he barely contacts his aunt and uncle. Though on his birthday, he sends little letters to tell them that he’s okay. The only member of La Squadra pretty much who still has a positive relationship with his family.

Risotto adored his second cousin much like his little sister. Their favorite activities included finding and fixing broken music boxes they’d find in thrift shops and playing with hand puppets. Her favorite was a jester with jingle bells on its hat.

As much as he loathed the drunk driver, during those 4 years, he couldn’t forgive himself therefore he would cut. Underneath the long sleeves is years worth of healed scars varying in years. Some older than the others. However he had not done so since Metallica had awakened as it causes him to repair himself subconsciously.

It turns out the drunk driver was a gangster from a rival gang and nearly got killed once they found out he killed him. However Sorbet ended up killing the pair when he got caught in the middle

Sorbet and Gelato remind him so much of his aunt and uncle but obviously to a different degree

He and Formaggio are childhood friends that drifted apart when his second cousin was killed, pretty much the only one that knows Risotto before he even became Risotto Nero.

Prosciutto is his mentor figure as he was his capo when he entered Passione at 18, the both of them being the only ones from their old group left. He earned his respect in a duel which allowed him to run The Hitman Team as he pleased

He has complex emotions about Illuso as he killed Sheila Es sister which meant taking family away from a child, but respects the fact he has the balls to stalk them for a few weeks within the mirror and understands that his confidence is a facade to hide his insecurities

He feels that Melone was just like him when he was younger, lost, damaged, hurt. And he was intrigued with how he was able to turn that hurt into something constructive like revenge.

When Ghiaccio came out of nowhere, he was aware of what it was like to be shunned out for being known as violent and “unmanageable “, but he knew deep down there was potential and him being cast out was from him constantly pushed to the brink. Considers him close due to how he doesn’t sugarcoat a thing despite the power dynamic and he actually offers a sense of normalcy through rambling.

Pesci was an odd case. Just a homeschooled, timid beach kid that Prosciutto happened to shield his influence from no matter what. But the way he took it upon himself to go find what he calls his “brother” and drive himself into underground crime is what gave him a chance, especially when the only clue was one P shaped pendant.

He collects music boxes for nostalgia and so he can fix the unwound ones that are often discarded. He can guess up to 20 classical tunes used in production.

A metal head, makes his own piercings with [Metallica] but is willing to give his fellow teammates some like Formaggio and Melone.

He is pretty much the groups barber and touches up anyone’s hair when allowed.

He wouldn’t change a thing about his dysfunctional crew as he considers each of them part of his family

A little request that I wanna do as it explores each of group members personalities. Some of it is pretty suggestive, briefly talks about SA on the streets and addresses homophobia, tread lightly.

Risotto-

He had known that Sorbet and Gelatos relationship was tight knit as Sorbet begged and wept for Gelato to be nursed back to health, that image reminded him of his own close bond with his second cousin when he too begged her to wake up. Not to mention Gelato threatened to shoot Polpo dead if they were separated, meaning this bond was closer than his was with his deceased family member. But the nature of their relationship was revealed by accident when he walked into them “claiming their spot on their chair”, he did scold them for making love in an area that made them vulnerable but that was it. To him, Sorbet and Gelato aren’t just two guys who happened to be gay, they were much like his older cousin and his wife (he calls them his aunt and uncle) before the tragedy changed their lives forever.

Time it took:1 month

Prosciutto-

He couldn’t understand why someone as diligent and careful as Sorbet would ever team up with someone who is carefree and cunning like Gelato. If it was anyone else, he’d kick him till none of his adult teeth could be repaired. But it was when Gelato gave off this devilish smirk after he told him that he can’t claim seats and he has to take it by force if he wants to sit somewhere specific that alerted him. There wasn’t any way, it couldn’t be! Prosciutto is a man who tries to keep to himself before jumping to conclusions, but it explained why they entered together. It doesn’t matter, they both get the job done though Gelato is a little shit.

Time it took: 3 weeks

Formaggio-



He understood when Gelato was wearing Sorbets shirt and he normally doesn’t mind, but living in the streets out in the open had him using subtle homophobia as protection. If he had learned the most important rule when sleeping exposed, keep one eye open! His guard remained up when he was paired with any of them and he was treading lightly not to become a statistic like the homeless women he was around with, until it was cold and Sorbet surprised him by tucking him in with a warm blanket after a drafty mission. It was then he knew that he was safe with his team and that he could sleep soundly.

Time it took:1 hour

Illuso-

Rumors get around a lot when you’re in Intel,especially when you hear about two men working so close to each other! So he wanted to find out for himself using The Mirror World! Nothing about them was straight, the way Sorbet presented himself with nothing but his undergarments and both shirt and sock garters, Gelato looked like he was praying to his personal god for the display in front of him, their matching nail polish! Sex was causal, but nothing about their relationship was causal! He applauded them because they were open unlike his closest self but doesn’t admit it so, he’ll still joke about how close they are till this day in mean spirited taunting like school kids.

Time it took:4 hours and 45 minutes

Ghiaccio-

He has had issues with accepting himself as anything other than straight, so it’s no surprise that he would bicker about how close they are when he was mad when they first met. What kind of gangsters flaunted themselves as gay? You might as well ask for someone to kill you! But the way these two guys who were said to be gross showed him more compassion and understanding than his “normal “ piece of shit uncle and peers did all his life that started opening his mind. He still gets upset about their pda and making out but it’s mostly because he feels like he’s their son witnessing his dads mingle like teenagers.

Time it took: A Day

Melone-

He is no stranger to two men just latching onto each other, he has two childhood friends that recently came to terms with the nature of their relationship. However he met Sorbet first as Gelato was recovering from a wisdom teeth extraction, he has no ill will with them and takes it as is. Though there is a whole section in his study notes that is highlighted where if they were to have a child, it would be the perfect assassin.

Time it took-A week

Pesci-

Poor little catholic boy at the time was trying to adjust to Prosciutto being an assassin within a team of other assassins to even be bothered at first. He was too busy trying not to shit himself as he’s more concerned about being killed on the spot,but it was then after Sorbet gets up after an depressive episode that he noticed that he and Gelato matched nail polish and were super close like friends. However Prosciutto just made it super obvious that he is not to be left alone around them(because they will haze him by testing his stand), he only finds out the nature of their relationship when he’s nearly gutted because he wanted to take one of their nail polish colors without asking. He doesn’t mind them as he admires how open they are without consequence.

My mouth hurts from wisdom teeth extraction, I have plenty of wips and cosplay stuff to do and I’m looking for Sorbet and Gelato food. Let’s go! Let’s go with serious and no serious discussion about their dynamic now! This also talks about some mental disorder depiction, suggestive talk and references the possibility of SH so theres that.

These two have several pet names for each other. Consisting of-

Moonpie, Sorbetto, Baby, Moondrop, Turtle dove, Tesoro(Gelatos towards Sorbet)

Sunshine, Amore Mio, Sleeping Beauty, Honey Bee, Minx, Caro (Sorbets towards Gelato)

Gelato will constantly check up on Sorbet when he has episodes where he’s refusing to leave their room, sometimes he’ll lash out though he won’t mean to and will apologize afterwards. But Gelato doesn’t mind the mess or the fact that he’ll just want to sit there and listen to the ceiling fan, he just gets worried and makes sure he’s taking care of himself. Putting away any thing that is sharp or has bullets to be on the safe side though Sorbet never has shown signs of hurting himself and leaving a path for them to walk in, they’ll always be later where they can clean up the excessive mess together.

Sorbet makes sure that whenever they are going out, Gelato isn’t overstimulated. They’ll go in places where it’s quiet and that they can just be by themselves, he knows he’s capable of roaming around louder spaces but it’s hard for him to struggle to cope when he’s taking everything all at once. There has been times where he’s tried scratching his arms when it’s too hot to wear his jacket and it hits him, but Sorbet always carries bubblegum to resist that urge

Prior to La Squadra, they ended up doing murder sprees that were burglaries to simulate home invasion. Sorbet would steal what he wanted and Gelato got treated by him by keeping them. Their favorite pieces being these silver and gold rings they placed on their fingers , Gelato wearing Sorbets silver and Sorbet wearing Gelatos gold.

They enjoy cuddling after intimacy, the sex is mind blowing but it’s the caressing and affection they touch with their bodies that brings them closer. Looking into each others eyes and holding each other close like they are unable to let go as their heartbeats ring from their ears, they couldn’t ask for anything else.

The rest of Passione doesn’t know about their relationship but La Squadra definitely knows, it happens all the time and Gelato claimed the one seat for them. The amount of time each member has found out varies.

They enjoy a lot of activities in and out of work together but painting each others nails takes the cake above anything else. Doing manicures and selecting which polishes would suit the both of them is the highlight of their love language. It’s them saying “I adore and cherish you “

Sorbet and Gelato have their differences but what sets them apart of couples where their personalities clash is they are willing to discuss and compromise, disagreeing on something isn’t the end of the world and you can’t hide parts of yourself you don’t like. If anything, talking about it creates an understanding of what the other is thinking and it forms a bond that strengthens each time.

Gelato loves Sorbet because he can’t read him easily like he can with most people. That unpredictability keeps him guessing and wanting more, nothing about him is boring even if he started as an average guy. The same average guy who was the first to treat him like a person.

Sorbet loves Gelato because of how much he’s full of surprises. He is manipulative and calculating, putting on a facade to trick his murder victims into trusting him by using his disadvantages as tools. But yet despite it all, he remained gentle and kind towards him, a fellow cunning man.

Gelato only feels safe enough to talk to Sorbet when they are completely alone and never stops talking, it’s music to Sorbets ears and he never wants to hear him stop. The way his tone of voice calls his name and explains things he has knowledge of turns him to mush on the spot.

Sorbet isn’t afraid to be overly emotional with Gelato, he’s seen him through better and worse and there’s no backing down on expressing how he feels. Gelato likes to think of him like an adorable puppy because of it and starts to try conquering his fear of dogs.

Each of them has photos and paintings of each other within their room and the house, admiring their depictions and memories they cherish within their bones.

They wear each others jewelry and clothes, mostly Gelato wearing Sorbets shirt at night and in the early morning while Sorbet feels the warmth of Gelatos coat as he lays down.

Okay. A little too soon but oh well. Gelatos turn for serious and non serious headcanons !

Gelato has a cluster of mental disorders, the 2 that are confirmed in documents are Selective Mutism and Autism. Yeah he was fucked genetically from the moment he was born.

His urge of killing and passion for photographing his murder sprees came from a combination of said mental illnesses, stemming from an abusive home and his short time in the military. He finds death a glorious source of inspiration.

He only still wears his old military uniform coat because he likes the compression he craves to function(and these coats are really heavy irl)

He doesn’t have a set routine with living but he does have a system with how he kills in which he will be caught off guard if things don’t go to plan.

The only vegetable he likes is corn. It’s sweet and you can pair it with practically any flavor profile.

La Squadra will only host parties in the mirror realm to accommodate Gelato because while he can handle loud noises, he just can’t handle large crowds and loud noises all at once.

Pretty much why he loves sweets and constantly eats them is because he has a sweet tooth and how chewing gets him distracted (and it’s another bonus if it tastes so good)

Although he’s more distant socially, he’s anything but shy towards others he trusts greatly. It’s just he only speaks towards those he feels safe with the most which is Sorbet.(Risotto sometimes too if we count Everyone Lives AU scenarios )

He knows how to do hatch and cross hatch drawings, he does it when he’s bored and gets better overtime

His favorite hobbies include gardening and photography. Photography has been his favorite since childhood because of how he can just stare at a captured moment for as long as he wants, he is full aware of flower languages as he finds it easy to convey what he’s saying from a bouquet.

He is very emotional and can cry upon command, but he easily uses this “weakness” and how people perceive him in order to manipulate them. It’s easier to kill when they think you are weak.

He cannot swim and is afraid of dogs. He’s been born and raised on the countryside of Italy and sheepdogs have always scared him because of some incidents where they have bit him when he came close to one.

The fic I made of Sorbet and Gelato is over and you know what? Maybe I can over explain serious and non serious headcanons again(though FYI some were made prior to Before The Gelato Ends Up Melting and some were inspired by the same light novel). I believe in individuality so let’s go one at a time.

Sorbet is partially Japanese on his mothers side but on his fathers side, it is speculated by distant relatives that she had an encounter with a French man.

He knows Japanese as he and his mother would only speak it in the house but had spoken Italian since he had moved to Catania by the age of 8 to even have an accent.

He has major depressive disorder that is genetic from his mother and uses orchestrated kills and piling on large amounts of work to fill the void. There will be days where he just won’t get out of bed and he despises it

He doesn’t tolerate laziness, if you’re physically and mentally capable, you’re helping. Though this is mindset has been less intense since meeting Gelato.

He started getting fluent in sign language thanks to Risotto teaching him more, he’d do anything to be able to speak to Gelato.

His urge to watch others dies is due to lack of control over his own mind and how he bottles up most of his emotions prior to Passione

Although he had been fired for embezzlement, he handles money as heand Gelato are second in commands but respects his team enough to not screw them over. It’s not their fault Diavolo is cheap

While he is more socially available than Gelato is, he isn’t as friendly. Pretty much this jaded and blunt guy who will slowly lose his shit if you keep pushing too much until he explodes.

If Illuso hurts himself doing his usual routine, Sorbet won’t even look up from his newspaper

Sorbet actually loves two things others don’t understand unless you’re really close to him. Fairy tales and oil painting. It’s because classic fairy tales don’t sugar coat anything but still provide a sense of closer in the form of a happy ending and oil painting is an outlet for him to spill his feelings instead of paying for therapy.

For Everyone Live Au scenarios, I like to think that Sorbet had his legs up to his knees chopped before sewing back up. It would take him 2 years to slowly start walking again and even so it’s with a limp. (I just like having SOME consequences)

His hairstyle is gelled to the point, it’s an hair gel that’s brand is nothing special but gets the job done. He refuses to let anyone else near it though

Despite being greedy, he has a concept of not splurging his money because working for it is harder to earn back. If anything, he and Gelato can go robbing or they’ll get Formaggio to steal stuff for him if he really wants something badly
