im so malnourished but I wanna say that Ilyas psycho-sexual obession with pleasing Shane started when he grew up pleasing and serving his dad. His dad is "sir" the "colonol" he is always waiting to not be good enough for him.
He plays and he wins but he is still 2nd best to Shane (in his mind). With Shane, he can redirect all that serving energy towards someone who is equally as unforgiving and strict, but who actually loves him back. Someone who sees his hard work and accomplishments and is impressed and proud of him. He will top Shane, and shane will whistle and Ilya will come bounding into the room with the leassh in his mouth cause hes ready for walkies!
