I know I messed things up for you guys and-... well, now my people are stuck here and yours are stuck there, but... can you really blame me for wanting to stay? My kind aren’t exactly welcomed with open arms back on the Island. Not that I feel very welcomed anymore, but... yeah.

Take us back, don’t take us back but I don’t wanna spend another second here. The longer no one points me to the exit, the more this feels like a prison with bells on.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER:

Born out of an affair between two people who absolutely hated each other, Charlotte had a pretty skewed view of love from the get go, among other things. She grew up spoiled which led to a sense of entitlement that she’s never lost, even when she was no longer living in the socialite world she’d grown up in. Despite being generally cold, blunt (well, mean) and distant she’s a massive flirt but only when it served her purpose. She learned quickly she could get anything she wanted if she smiled at the right people or whispered in the right ears so manipulation became a second nature to her. ‘Love’ was certainly overrated and lead to nothing but heartbreak and gross mascara tears so it was something she never had an interest in despite her godly grandmother’s reputation. Desire on the other hand was something she could work with. Charlotte was always able to make people want her—not love her or care about her, but want her. She could have been a second wife or dirty mistress if she’d tried hard enough. People were always lead astray by their desires and while she works that to her advantage, it’s one of the things that makes her feel so hateful towards other people. Strip back all the pleasantries and everyone’s just out for what they want and they have little consideration for anything else—you know, only after one thing. She’s jaded, never felt like she belonged anywhere especially not in her family and she’d rather have shallow relationships that convenience her than anything else.

For a long while she didn’t know that she was a “love baby” but she found out when she lost control of her then-unwanted powers. The ability to control ice in the presence of love or desire—only it was never love with her. He was some boy and he definitely desired her but he ended up with a frozen heart and she ended up shipped off to Half Blood Island with her eyes opened to a side of herself she didn’t know was there. Because that boy—that stupid boy—had died and it was her fault, and she couldn’t bring herself to care about it the way she knew people would expect her to.
