"we're gonna remember this summer for the rest of our lives."
I've been crazy about you for so long. I've tried so hard to hold on to you so tight. You know, but if I love you...and I really love you. Then I've got to let you go. Please, Lucas, don't say this is it. I'm sorry cos I let you down. I'm sorry for all of this...

SLEIGHPAIR SNOWBOAT: Hayray | Lucas Hay x Dillon Ray (Hollyoaks) + “kissing under the mistletoe” & “making gingerbread houses”
Requested by Anonymous
Another piece of gingerbread snuck its way off the tray. Lucas lightly swatted Dillon's hand and turned to him sharply, saying, 'Would you stop eating it? We're supposed to be selling this!'
Dillon rolled his eyes and reached over for a small handful of M&M's instead. Lucas was too exasperated and stressed to care, but it did bring a smile to his face as he watched him pop one into his mouth.
'I'm hungry! And you make really good gingerbread. Also, who makes gingerbread? Why couldn't we just buy some of those pre-baked kits to sell at the Kiosk instead?'
'Because I know how to make it?' Lucas shrugged. 'Besides, it tastes better when it's homemade. Tony taught me and Leah how to make it when we were kids.'
Dillon hummed. 'Well, I can't disagree that it's delicious. But it's also really boring just standing here watching you bake, as hot as you look in that little apron and covered in ingredients.'
Lucas' smile grew, despite him trying to fight it back.
'I could so kiss you right now,' Dillon added.
Lucas looked up at him, then at the mistletoe he was dangling above the space between them. He grinned and raised his eyebrows.
'You're so cheesy sometimes, you know that?'
'It's why you love me.'
'One of the reasons.' He turned fully towards him, finally taking his attention off the gingerbread for a moment. 'Where did that even come from? Have you just been waiting to do that?'
Dillon shrugged, returning his grin tenfold. 'Maybe.'
Lucas shook his head fondly, said, 'This feels so unhygenic, Tony would kill me,' and then leaned in, kissing him. Dillon happily reciprocated.
When they broke apart for a moment, Lucas glanced up at the mistletoe again.
'That's fake, right?'
Dillon furrowed his eyebrows. 'What do you mean?'
'It's plastic?'
'No, it's real. Look, the berries come off.'
He went to pluck one off but Lucas quickly stopped him, his eyes widening.
'Dillon, mistletoe is poisonous!'
'Wait, what?! Seriously?'
'Yes! It can't be near the food!'
'Well, I didn't know that!' Dillon's face fell. 'Oh, my god, do I need to go to hospital?'
'Did you eat any of it?'
He shook his head and Lucas breathed a sigh of relief.
'Right, throw that away and wash your hands. Dillon.' He caught him before he turned away, kissing him again. His smile forced them apart, but he kissed once more, saying, 'I love you.'
'For nearly killing us?' Dillon chuckled, eyeing the mistletoe warily as he held it with the tips of his fingers, far away from them both.
Lucas shook his head. 'For being you.'
Dillon faltered, then his face split, and he stole one more quick kiss, saying, 'I love you, too.'
'Now, seriously, throw that away.'
'Right. On it.'
