Port of Antwerp, the cool part 🚢

1. 'Stormkop' by Maud Vanhauwaer. The letters of the poem turn with the wind.

2. Port House of Antwerp (the diamond capital of the world). Architect Zaha Hadid did a marvelous job.

3. Old building of maritime piloting services.

❘ NIGHT ALLOWS THE STARS TO SHINE ❘

…or in this case: night allows the diamonds to shine, Antwerps biggest diamond that is: The havenhuis, designed by the wildly talented but sadly departed Zaha Hadid. I love this building, I love the structure but also the symbolism behind it’s placement and the design.

So what do you do on Christmas Eve when you have nothing better to do? You get out the tripod and try to capture this beauty. My timing wasn’t perfect though, it was too windy for the tripod to serve a real purpose but I did manage to get this one…

Maandag, 4 maart 2019 | De zon breekt door als wij opstaan, maar helaas is dat van korte duur. Spoedig betrekt de hemel weer met donkere wolken en staat er een behoorlijk straffe wind. Voordat we aan onze wandeling door Antwerpen beginnen, maak ik gebruik van het feit dat de zon zich even laat zien om het Centraal Station te fotograferen.
