It's not irony. It's not hypocrisy. It's just very "American".
As the far right appeals to mandatory patriotism and cranks up the hype to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of a war fought to cast off and refute monarchy, the sentiment of 'no kings' is portrayed as unpatriotic and "un-American" by the ruling cabal. They can do this without being laughed out of office.
That's how well the populace here understands history. That's how well they understand correlation, analogy, logic, reason and psychological manipulation.
Then again, the fledgling United States wanted to crown George Washington as king. Immediately after getting rid of one King George they wanted another one.
So being dumb asses is right there in our national DNA.
quincy’s teaching yakumo how to ballroom dance (for whatever reason) and he pulls yakumo in close and ofc yakumo gets all shy and blushy, so quincy asks if the little devil would be a better teacher for him.
yakumo just shakes his head and mumbles something about him ‘wanting it to be a surprise’ but then he looks up at the forest guardian with the most sincere expression on his face and says,
“besides, being so close to him like this would make me feel the same way..”
and quincy’s heart skips a beat; not only because of yakumo’s unexpected honesty, but also because of that slightest admission of the serpent’s feelings towards him.

I just kind of think it’s funny that Stancys have been getting hated on for so long and the Duffers basically confirmed everything we’ve been saying about Jancy is correct.
We’ve BEEN saying Jancys whole relationship is a trauma bond, and people are still denying it and saying the Duffers are making shit up.
I’ve seen so many crash-outs of people saying the breakup came out of nowhere. That being trauma bonded isn’t a bad thing (which is an insane thing to say). I’ve even seen people comparing them to other couples in the show, claiming every single couple is in a trauma bond. Which… no.. they’re not.
Jopper knew each other since High school. Lucas liked Max before anything happened w/the demos. Stancy dated before all the upside down shit. Jancy only started talking BECAUSE of the demogorgan. Without all that shit they wouldn’t have gotten together.
If people actually watched the show, they would KNOW the Duffers aren’t making shit up by saying “This breakup was planned for years.” Literally the first night Jancy got together Murray claimed they were trauma bonded. S2 is the only good season with them. In s3 they’re fighting the entire time, season 4 they barely speak, s5 they’re still fighting until they ultimately break up.
The Duffers aren’t ‘lying’ to seem like better writers. This breakup didn’t come from nowhere. You just haven’t been watching the show.
“Should I let him?”
Remmick rests his head on Smoke’s thigh, his finger running against the fabric. Even through it, the skin of his cheek feels cold, slack. Smoke isn’t sure whether he likes or despises it.
Bo laughs. “You deserve it.”
