ahhhhhh yes, you’re absolutely right<3 thanks, bb. i’m really pleased with how they came out.

so for @oldguardbigbang2021, i teamed up with @cactusdragon517 (WHY will tumblr not let me tag you oh my god that’s annoying) to illustrate her hades/persephone remix starring andy and quỳnh, with a supporting cast of EVERYONE. it’s so incredibly good and so evocative, i IMMEDIATELY had mental images for the main cast. i ended up only being able to finish two pieces, but i’m hoping to complete at least one more. this fic deserves nothing but the best.

keen-eyed observers will note the massive debt of plagiarism i owe to mr. aubrey beardsley, but hat-tips also to Hades from Supergiant Games and Hadestown the musical for additional inspiration and for soundtracking this endeavor.

I KNOW I SAID IM THINKING BUT REALLY IM JUST MARINATING. AND THE SAUCE HAS A LOT OF INGREDIENTS BUT:

Andy and Nile have a close bond. A possibly romantic bond. A possibly romantic bond that needs to be handled creatively once Quynh is brought back into the fold (I am thinking...poly v).  It’s a long lasting bond (consider, another film wherein the hero said it’s hard to find someone with lived experience). Quynh has that shared history with Andy and forgiveness (this is based on nothing but what I personally have decided happens in the sequel(s), with literally zero input from “canon”). Nile has that hope for the future, the thrill of something new but steady, saying, “I don’t know, but we’ll do it together.”

And then Andy dies. I don’t know what happens to Quynh, but maybe being with/around Nile is too much for a while. Nile gets it. Maybe she’s not ready to be around Quynh just yet. It’s too raw, still. Booker knows the worst parts of grief more than the rest do, but he’s not there.  And then the only people who left who understand Nile are Joe and Nicky.

And now I am Thinking about steadiness. And the long stretch of years. And the relief of not having to explain everything about yourself and someone(s) just accepting you....

OMG OKAY

so it came out of me watching the mando s2 trailer. the part where he drowns. and it made me think of Sorgan because they are surrounded by water, everyone HAS to know how to swim. somewhere in there Winta has prophetic dreams plus there’s some of “i believe in dave filoni’s version of the force and it’s weird.” Right now it’s just vignettes connected by water/swimming. 

one part from it: 

Fuzzy didn’t know how to swim.

Winta couldn’t ask him that and yet she knew. His waddle was all land legged. She wondered if he swam in his mothers belly, like everyone else she knew.

She wanted to teach him, but knew the Mandalorian would never let him disappear. Her tongue laid heavy with the request but after asking him can she watch him? can he play with them? she felt another question would be too much.

Her need to be kind to a guest, someone who helped save their village, outweighed her need to get her way.
