haughty: gabahh 1361 (Hebrew) imperfect tense - to be high, exalted, lofty, proud; God's blessing never legitimizes arrogance. Ongoing human elevation invites a corresponding collapse whereas a lifestyle of humility attracts favor. The height rightfully ascribed to God becomes toxic when continually self-sought. Our invitation is to bow low, trust high, and wait for the day the Lord alone is exalted.

honor: kabowd 3519 (Hebrew) the weight of good sense, the heaviness of honor; all glory belongs intrinsically to God, is graciously manifested to His people, is forfeited by sin, restored through redemption, and ultimately consummated in the everlasting kingdom of God. Idolatry forsakes true honor, exchanging it for what is worthless.
