I honestly remember when my Hatterene was a Hattrem she would always try to help me bake muffins (and that's how she got her name really, yes her name is Muffin) though sometimes when I got frustrated with something she would just go on my lap and stare. I did have her checked up when I first got her and she lacks the ability to sense emotions properly, we don't know if it was caused by brain injury or she was born with it but would a Hattrem still be violent? (And if they are, man I dodged a big bullet multiple times and it happens specifically when I get frustrated at something, anything else just goes over her head)

Awww, Muffin is cute
The Hatenna line’s behavior is much more affected by environment than most people think.
They cannot control their empathetic power like other psychic types, so the input of so many emotions is constant. A wild Hatterene becomes (not quite sociopathic) but extremely apathetic to others. It’s same kind of satisfaction you get when throwing a loud and obnoxious alarm clock across the room.
So, for those who have limited access to empathetic senses, emotions are much less annoying. And those who have spent their entire lives around humans, they adjust to become more desensitized (or at least more tolerant) of other beings.
