"Mhm." Despite the disinterest in her tone, she gave him a solid look-over as he took it back and dropped his little line. With a quirked brow, she shrugged, continuing on her way at a pace enough to pass him by, heeled boots sounding on the pavement underfoot. "You look creative, hon'. Shame you don't have better lines to go with your 'little' props~" This time she was the one sending a playful wink over her shoulder before turning around the corner.
Oh, so it was a game, was it? Lyall was more than to oblige. His own boots thudded dully against the concrete as Lyall slipped around the corner behind the woman. What a strange coincidence that they were going the same direction. How truly surprising. He took a moment before saying anything, simply walking alongside her and seemingly sizing her up, a smug smirk plastered across his face as he eyed his new companion.
“C’mon, I hope you don’t think that’s all I’ve got,” Lyall sighed, doing his best to act offended despite the grin that seemingly never left his face. “Glad you got the right impression from me, though. It’s been a while since I met someone who knows how to enjoy themself, y’know? I’d offer to buy you coffee or somethin’, but I have the strange feeling you’re not that kind of girl. Maybe that there’s somethin’ else you like more.” He didn’t sound overly flirtatious, at the very least. In fact, he sounded quite casual, like this conversation was no less mundane than inquiring about the weather or how her job was going.
