makena: hey- hey baby, can you do something for me? it probably won't be that hard for you anyway since you don't like him, but if you see xavier, don't talk to him. if he tries to talk to you-..don't listen and don't hold a conversation, just walk away. please. it's really important that you do that for me, okay? i'll explain everything the next time i see you but long story short he's one fry short of a happy meal right now and i'm really worried that he's going to try something with you. he- [makena doesn't want to tell the whole story over a voicemail, or even tell it in general, and this showed as her words were practically panicked] he has some really bad intentions, harold, he's gone all homicidal-suicidal ... please call me back when you get this, and come see me. i love you.

i was very intimidated by chloe from the instant i joined this roleplay because her writing was so amazing and even though i was intimidated, i was dying to become her friend and roleplay with her character ( which, at the time was just harold, i think ?? ) since then, sheâs become one of my closest friends in the group, my older sister, to be exact. iâm so happy that i spoke to her on my first day and that weâve developed not only our characters together, but iâm happy that iâve gotten to see her develop her other characters, too. sheâs been here since the day i arrived and so, in that sense, sheâs become a staple part of the rp in my eyes and iâm glad i get to roleplay with her even though i probably annoy the shit out of her with plot ideas :-)Â
Send me ⤠on anon and Iâll compliment someone at random!
âSo Iâve been giving a lot of thought to your little engagement--I didnât have anything better to do on my day off--and I was thinking that your best bet would probably just to fake your own death. Think about it. It would get you out of the engagement and really all responsibilities. Rana could play the devastated fiancee for a month or so and move on and people wouldnât judge her--theyâd probably praise her strength. You could come up with a new name and run off with Diallo or start a completely new life. Just an idea. If youâre interested, let me know. I think I know a guy who could help...â
Logan could feel his rage filling him from head to toe. As Harold kept talking, kept snapping, kept pushing at every last thread, he clenched his jaw, feeling his fingers twitch as they resisted balling up in a fist. âStop.â He warned, his voice thick with anger. But Harold didnât, he kept going, slowly tearing Logan apart. âAll you do is push people away. Youâre a god damn asshole and you know it. Itâs no wonder I left you the first time- Itâs no wonder Kelani or anyone else left-â At the mention of her, of his friend, Logan finally snapped. He took a quick step forward, swinging his hand up and at Haroldâs cheek, surprised and ashamed at how good the contact felt.Â

Expecting: Our characters find out they are expecting a child together
When Makena missed her period she felt her heart sink, only assuming it was because her infertility was becoming prominent again. She stopped treatments an age and a half ago so it made sense that this would be happening, and despite the fact she wasnât in the mind set to think of having children any time soon, it still shattered her heart. But this wasnât new; sheâd gone through this before so she put on her brave face and carried on for a good two weeks until she started getting sick. Sheâd have to miss the first few minutes of her morning classes because sheâd be hunched over feeling like absolute shit, and that was when she knew something was wrong. There was no way she could beâŚno. Makena was almost sure she was still infertile and that was nearly impossible, but she had to check. So she took the dreaded fifteen minute drive to the nearest clinic â the one where she first learned about her infertility â and went through the all too familiar process of getting checked. This was something she did a lot many months ago; secretly go in to see if she was just as good as every other woman though she hardly ever was, even with the treatments. But as she nervously sat on the wax paper covered table with her bottom lip caught between her teeth, she was given news that she hadnât expected to hear. She was pregnant. âNo..â Was all she could manage as the doctor gave her the news, but it was as if heâd gone through this a hundred times before with young mothers, everything he said sounding scripted and rehearsed. âThere are some optionsââ He was starting to say before she cut him off, her head shaking, âNo, Iâm keeping it.âÂ
On the car ride back to campus, she tried to think of ways to break it to the father. Of course it was Haroldâs, he was the only person sheâd slept with recently, but she almost wished it wasnât his. He was already tied down with his many arrangements, the main thing being his engagement and she didnât want to burden him with the news, so for a long time she kept quiet. If this happened months before sheâd be ecstatic; calling up everyone she knew, probably happy crying every day because she would be getting everything sheâd ever wanted, but that wasnât the case. Itâd been a week or so before she told anyone, and that was her mother who was overseas and couldnât possibly run her mouth off to anyone who actually knew Makenaâs situation. And despite the dread that sat heavy with her, she told Harold next.Â
There wasnât really any excitement. No jumping up and down or high fives for âgetting âer doneâ (which is something Makena probably wouldâve done if this wouldâve happened while they were still together). Instead there were a lot of tears and hugs, a few apologies from her despite her lack of control over the situation, as well as numerous concerned glances. How on earth would this work? At the time, they didnât know, but it was going to be a good enough amount of time before she started showing that they could plan. Though even after all of the drama, at the end of the day, Makena was secretly very happy. She was going to get to be a mom to Haroldâs child and that was something she used to only dream about.
Jealousy: My character gets jealous over yours
Did Dee sincerely think that inviting Makena to her and Haroldâs wedding was a good idea? She had to do it out of cruelty, there was no other way about it. But she still showed up in the nicest dress she had, one sheâd probably return the next day, that wasnât black â which was something Xavier had to talk her out of doing. âWhat?â Sheâd say, âItâs just like a funeral if you ask me.â Though after all the fuss of getting there, putting on a dress sheâd never wear again, and trying not to touch the flask sheâd put in her purse, she managed to make it through the beginning. She couldnât tear her eyes away from Harold as he stood at the alter, waiting for the bride sheâd never get to be, though the slight squeeze Xavier gave her brought her back down to reality where she couldnât feel sorry for herself at someone elseâs wedding. And despite the fact she and her friend joked about interrupting it, that seemed out of the question. This wasnât like the movies and even if she thought about objecting, her own reputation would be ruined and sheâd look like a total idiot.Â
She eventually had to look away, though, as Dee came walking down the aisle and everyone turned to watch her. She looked absolutely gorgeous and despite all the efforts Makena was making to be happy for Dee, there was no way to combat the jealousy she felt deep inside of her. It shouldâve been her walking down that aisle. It shouldâve been her wearing that dress â well maybe not that dress, she probably wouldâve insisted on getting something cheaper because no doubt that dress cost a fortune and a half. These were the thoughts that filled her mind as she blocked out everything that was being said, the vows especially. Ugh. She could almost throw up, but instead she continued on with the nice thoughts of what her own wedding dress would look like when the day came.Â
Makena sat looking at them blankly, no emotion showing throughout almost the entire ceremony, though she couldnât bring herself to watch them kiss. Now that was going to make her throw up. Another quick squeeze from Xavier and the shuffling of everyone rising gave her a clear indication that it was over, so she too stood up and clapped just like everyone else, though after it all died down and leaned over to Xav and whispered something about how she couldnât wait to get to the bar.

âYour first family is your blood family and you always be true to that. That means something. But thereâs another family and thatâs the kind you go out and find. Maybe even by accident sometimes. And theyâre as much blood as your first family. Maybe more so, because they donât have to look out for you and they donât have to love you. They choose to.â
