Mildly rancid Harkness moodboard, that I made instead of sleeping <3 Making one for the writer is kind of ironic atm though, because I want to write s o bad atm, but. College, as well this week's heatwave, seem to have gotten to me quite a bit </3 ( I genuinely don't think I've e v e r witnessed a summer this warm, where I live)
Anyway, Harkness as light blue, because I feel like it matches the way he appears mostly amiably towards the other boys, with a few exceptions. While also being quite a bit distanced in way, as well. In his own way ( thinking about the part where he bumped into Collie, and didn't even bother to apologize, whatsowver. Or the part in the book, where one boy throws up after Curley's death, and Harkness pretty dryly remarks that said boy will " go next ").
Although he appears to be kind of ashamed after the latter instance ( and I feel like it came less from a place of actual malice, and rather from a combination of a more or less detached attitude, as well as the fact that he, despite the fact that he seemed to be a rather " rational " person, didn't fully grasp the reality of the walk, unfortunately </3 which, imo, was also emphasied by the way he worried about wether he should keep the diarrhea incident, aka one of the " uglier" parts of the walk in his book or not, because he worried that it wouldn't appease the public much, if he did. And him leaving the uglier parts of the event out, would'vevery mich contributed to keeping up appearances, and making the walk seem like somethingit very much isn't- which is ironically something the system more or less "tricked" him into believing himself ).
Anyway, I don't really talk that much about him, but I actually think he's pretty interesting ( especially in regards to what he's supposed to represent within the story), so.
Gonna leave this here, and hope you'll like it, ig ^^'
