ISKON TEMPLE, SILIGURI āØ
I was confused with what is to be done, in life... And tbh, I got every answer, when I visited his sacred placeāØš„ŗ
Visited Iskon, this time with my camera, to get some pics too...
"Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna hare hare, hare Ram o hare Ram o, Ram o Ram o hare hare"
"Hari bol"
For those who would like to read a short story, about Lord Krishna, can read it below:
ą¤ą¤ą¤µą¤¾ą¤Ø ą¤¶ą„ą¤°ą„ ą¤ą„ą¤·ą„ą¤£ ą¤ą„ विशाल ą¤Ŗą„ą¤°ą¤¤ą¤æą¤®ą¤¾ą¤ą¤ | Lord Sri Krishna huge statues | ą²¶ą³ą²°ą³ą²ą³ą²·ą³ą²£ą²Ø ą²¬ą³ą²¹ą²¤ą³ ą²Ŗą³ą²°ą²¤ą²æą²®ą³ą²ą²³ą³
on the banks of Gaį¹ gÄ
you held me all night, my Lord unseen to the eye, your grace, a lover's touch, wrapped my skin unheard to the ears, your name, my japa, vibrated through my braincells
Monsoon One, do you long for me as fully as i long for you? do you call on me as ardently as i call on you? you do, don't you, my Lord? i am not alone in this quest
for every step i take towards you, you take two towards me for every tear i spill in yearning for you, you ignite vīrya in my skin tissue for every test of yours that i fail, you yank me freer of delusion
i see it now, Hari. you have been pulling me by my hair and hands to you. it was all you. it was always all you.
if i run to you as fast as my legs can take me, will you meet me halfway?
you will, won't you, my Lord?
š¦ Happy Kį¹į¹£į¹a JanmÄį¹£į¹amÄ«! š poem from my upcoming collection "the Monsoon One and the pilgrim". š

check out this stunning futuristic MahÄbhÄrata art by Vamchi Vams!
the tendency with modern Mbh-inspired artwork is for it to still adhere to 'traditional' / historic conventions and for these to be seen as more 'accurate' renderings, but, especially with the war books (parvas), i'd maintain that one needs only to skim-read to see that the futuristic artwork most likely is a more 'accurate' representation of how the war is said to be fought. it would not be an exaggeration to claim that the astras (supranatural weapons imbued with mantras) used by warriors such as Arjuna, Karį¹a & AÅvatthÄmÄ functioned like nuclear weapons. i personally adore futuristic Mbh artwork because in my opinion it enlivens the epic & grounds it in our present as a timeless dynamic work and not as an ancient lifeless poem.
i do wonder if it is the inescapable archaic tone of 99% of the Mbh translations from sanskrit (which my dear friend Avi Sato pointed to me once & now i can't unsee!) that which contributes to this overall impression that traditional renditions * must * be more accurate. perhaps. i for one would love to see a truly futuristic translation and interpretation of the Mbh (both in literature & in film / TV) that also follows the narrative thread faithfully. might take it upon myself.
