On the train

The second one of the series. Even though I had figured out the drawing style, I went and made many redesigns and renames of this one. The original idea was to make a "sleeper" performance vehicle, by placing a huge engine in the spacious back of a minivan. While trying to figure out what racing vehicle to give this drive, the same as Battlax, I came back to that idea. Also, I was missing a big, long vehicle in the lineup, like a bus, firetruck or motorhome. So, I went and combined it with a van and my favorite firetruck and diesel locomotive: the American LaFrance 800 series and EMD F-units. It already had a mid-mounted v12, like a supercar, but now has a massive diesel instead (see the little 'blueprint'). Though built for towing, it has enough speed when unloaded, thanks to that engine. The name is based on "hard as nails" and obviously train tracks. Did think of calling "Hot Shot" since it is slang for a fast train, but thought it was too generic. The second name it has is based on the first name I gave it, "Fire Freighter".
