Ok, I'm done being sorry for myself today. I'm smart, I'm unique, and I am beautiful. I might now always be happy with myself but I will always be proud of who I am and the journey I have taken to get here.

I was Afraid Of how you would look; How you would feel. I waited patiently for you When my mama told me you were full of sin That you were dirty That people wouldn’t look at you the same. Or that they wouldn’t let you be around their kids Because gay was too harmful And I had to cage you. Told you that I never want to be you Denied you. And at 26 I’ve come to terms that the only way to happiness is to be honest Is to be boi and proud of it.

I've been vegan 1wk and 2days . And I've been really energetic and at peace with myself . There are a few things I'm still learning . Still things I'm giving up slowly ( chips 🙄) But I feel good . This past weekend , I went to dinner with my cuzens twice They all told me " you can cheat for the day!" " eat some of these hot wings" " have some of these spinach dip pooh it's good" As much as I wanted to give in and enjoy that social aspect of communal eating , I didn't . Because this lifestyle is for me . This change has nothing to do with them ; but has everything to do with me . I was sooooo proud of myself . Next week , we will be traveling to Canada. That weekend I know will be filled with eating , drinking , and fellowship. And I can't give in. Because it's for me . 😁
