Wild to me how I'm giving myself mental shit over the fact that I'm acting like a BasicWhiteGirlTM because I like pumpkin spice lattes now and my boyfriend got me a ukelele and I'm super excited to play it and I get up with enough time to do my makeup when in all actuality I should be happy I'm allowing myself to have little things that make me happy no matter what they are because I've been so depressed I couldn't do those things. Well.....this is for my #TenYearChallenge - - - - - I'm heavier than I was and I hate that that's the first thing I see. I look happy in the first picture, probably because I was a teenager and I thought I was the shit. - - But I know I was in a lot of pain back then. I was suicidal and I hated the person I had become. I've recently realized (ie in the last month or two) that I was always waiting for things to happen and to get better. I thought I wasn't ready to change my life until ______ happened (whatever hurdle at the time). I thought I had to stuff my feelings down and handle everything by myself and be useful. Absolutely be useful and smart, never weak. I was already "weak" enough. - - - - I'm not where I want to be but I am the happiest I've ever been. I'm able to love more deeply and be compassionate toward others. I have a beautiful little family that I treasure. The story in Acts 4 also tells us of Peter and Johnās arrest while they preached that Jesus had resurrected from the dead. But while the magistrates, elders and scribes were assembled in Jerusalem for Peterās trial before the Sanhedrin, the Bible says āThen Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israelā¦ā (Acts 4:8). Notice that this incident wasnāt referring to Peter receiving the Holy Spirit, but that he was filled with the Spirit. . A Christian who has received the Holy Spirit without experiencing this continual infilling will live an ordinary life in this world. The Apostle Paul lived an extraordinary life because he understood the importance of being constantly filled with the Spirit. To the Church in Corinth, he said āI thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye allā¦ā 1 Corinthians 14:18).
