THERE HAD BEEN A PRETTY PINK HAZE LINGERING IN THE SKY LATELY. from what she had read, it was something to do with with the wildfires off near sacramento, and even all the way down here, the air quality had been labeled as ' unhealthy. ' someone on the television outside the video store had even said that stepping outside today was like smoking three packs of cigarettes ── so she figured it was a good thing that she didn't smoke, and never had, since it left her with some room to make up for lost time.

then there was lenny. the only three things she knew about her was that she was studying to be a nurse; that she had come to santa carla with a group of friends for spring break; and that, in the past twenty-four hours, she had seen her do six shots and slightly singe their fingers when they tried to get one last hit off of half-an-inch of a blunt.

          " I DON'T THINK THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH YOU, " she told him. leaning over the cards that lenny had spread out over the sidewalk, she reached out and flipped over the ten of cups; she could never remember what it meant when it was reversed. "Oh man, I'm so ready to get out of here." He's been on call a while; that Alaire guy they found fairly recently seemed to be having a hard time adjusting so they needed more hands. You know, in case he lashed out or whatever. Though Macha wouldn't blame the guy. They have no idea how they'd handle to suddenly being in the position he's in after being abused and treated like a science experiment for years.

So far it seems his gift is being well received. Alaire just hopes the cake tastes good too. Not that he hasn't tried it to know whether or not he likes it, but that doesn't mean Lenny will!

carolina ferreira  ...    ▇▇▇                 she  never  had  anyone  who  wanted  to  see  her  smile.  to  make  her  feel  good.  to  make  her  a  better  person.  and  Lennon  had  been  the  very  first  to  do  all  of  that.  a  friendship  that  had  blossomed  into  much  more.  she  wasn't  shy  at  all  with  her.  in  fact,  she   was  incredibly  comfortable.  and  it  showed.  especially  now.  back  in  her  Portuguese  home.  lennon  had  agreed  to  spend  the  whole  week  there  with  her.  which  made  Carolina  beam  with  joy.  and  it  didn't  take  long  before  they  were  laying  next  to  one  another  in  the  large  bed.  lost  in  between  kisses  and  touches.  before  Lennon  managed  to  make  Carolina  roll  onto  her  back.  hands  pinning  her  wrist  down.
