There is so much to do, God, and a limited amount of time in each day. And sometimes I feel like I’m not doing the things that are most important. It’s not like I’m doing things that are a waste of time. It’s just that these days it doesn’t feel like it’s what’s most important. I feel like I should be doing something direct and in the streets to protect the rights of my neighbors and to protect democracy and to combat the fascist takeover of my country. And at the same time, I feel like I don’t even have the time to figure out what that something in the streets would be.
So, God, it’s hard to be thankful tonight. It’s hard to be thankful when I’m feeling frustrated and hamstrung and weak.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: at least I can be honest with you about all this—and I'm thankful for that. Amen.
