Along with savory ham and melted cheese, this rich sandwich has sweet caramelized onions and maple syrup, all of which are grilled to perfection between two slices of bread.
Ingredients: 4 slices of bread. 8 slices of ham. 8 slices of cheese cheddar or Swiss recommended. 1 large onion, thinly sliced. 2 tablespoons butter. 2 tablespoons maple syrup. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Add thinly sliced onions to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Remove onions from the skillet and set aside. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Place 4 slices of bread, buttered side down, onto the skillet. Layer each slice with 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of cheese. Top with caramelized onions and drizzle with maple syrup. Place the remaining bread slices on top, buttered side up. Cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Remove from skillet and serve hot.

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Today we had a bowl and Pea n Ham Soup spot on delicious. A pair of Sunnyside Egg's, Toast n Ham. Just minutes to Downtown Detroit on Michigan Ave you will be in HAM heaven. Detroit also has Ham Palace , Liles and A&L Ham Palace with same outstanding Delicious Ham.
