In the aftermath of the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre that left 11 Israeli coaches and athletes dead at the hands of Black September terrorists (bonus question: the Palestinians and which other nation were involved in "Black September?"), Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir unleashed Operation Spring of Youth, a raid on Palestine Liberation Organization camps in Lebanon that killed over 50 terrorists. She also went after the Munich massacre organizers. Operation Wrath of God unleashed Mossad hit squads on Black September terrorists cowering in Europe, under the illusion they were safe there. This operation continued until its final hit on February 14, 1988, in Cyprus. Between nine and 11 key Munich planners and facilitators were ultimately killed, with slop-over from the targeted hits bringing the score to around 20. The operation was marred by the Lillehammer Affair where the wrong guy was killed, but as Napoleon said, you can't make an omelet without whacking Arabs...I mean breaking eggs.

If you're on social media, you've been seeing a string of announcements like this appear.

The common thread is these are terrorists who were involved in the October 7 jihadi rampage and who thought they'd evaded the consequences of their barbarism.

According to Israeli media, Israel has killed no fewer than 2,561 of the around 3,000 terrorists who crossed from Gaza into Israel on October 7. About 1,000 of these were killed in traditional combat with the IDF. The remainder got their one-way trip to Hell courtesy of a secretive unit called Nili. Nili was formed shortly after the October 7 attack and given the mission of tracking down every single terrorist who invaded Israel on October 7. The name Nili is an acronym for a biblical phrase (1 Samuel 15:29) that translates as “the Eternal One of Israel will not lie.” It is composed of elements of Shin Bet, Israel's internal security and counterintelligence service, which operates directly under the Prime Minister, and the Israel Defense Forces. 

According to reports, the unit uses facial recognition software to identify terrorists captured on film inside Israel. It also uses electronic surveillance and, probably the most important element: prisoner interrogations. Hamas (and Hezbollah) are not drawn from a warrior culture. They turn on each other at the first sliver of self-interest. That's why Israeli intelligence has deeply penetrated its enemies. To better understand this, consider the following from one of war correspondent Michael Yon's dispatches from Mosul in 2005, while embedded with a unit commanded by now-retired, former CENTCOM commander General Michael Kurilla.

Moving on hot intelligence, Deuce Four conducted nine simultaneous raids on May 19th. One insurgent in particular was believed to know the locations of others. If the Deuce Four had gone in and just shot the man, he would be dead and useless, but instead LTC Kurilla asked him about the locations of two predominant terrorists. The insurgent answered, “For me to give the locations of these two men would be treason. However, in Iraq we have a saying: if death comes to greet you at your door, introduce him to your brother.” The soldiers loaded the Strykers and headed to that location. 

Why Palestine is a problem? Because it's used by the jihadists just as a device.

They don't believe in Palestine. Hamas does not believe in Palestine. Yasser Arafat did not believe in Palestine. They just shout out loud, 'Palestine,' but their aim is not that.

In their conscious and in their subconscious, it's Islam. And Islam's attempt 14 centuries ago was to replace Judaism. They stole the Jewish identity and they called it Islam. It's a stolen identity, nothing original about it.

And today they see what's so-called Palestine as an Islamic trust. It's all about Al-Aqsa Mosque. If you look at Hamas attacks on October 7th, the name of the massacre campaign is after Al-Aqsa Mosque, Tufan Al-Aqsa. It's Al-Aqsa Flood.

So if you look just a bit deeper beyond the propaganda, and you're going to see that their mosque is sitting on the top of the Jewish temple, the most sacred Jewish site. And it's their attempt to replace Judaism. It's their attempt to replace Israel.

And nothing can satisfy their ambition because they are not limited to any political borders.

A Gaza doctor who slammed Israel in a pair of New York Times op-eds is a colonel with terror group Hamas, according to an Israeli watchdog group and the Israeli Defense Forces.

Hussam Abu Safyia was photographed wearing a Hamas camo military uniform while at a gathering of Hamas elites to celebrate the completion of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in 2016, according to the Jerusalem-based watchdog NGO Monitor.

Safyia’s photo appeared on the Gaza Medical Services‘ Facebook page — a group overseen by the Hamas-run health ministry.

The ceremony was attended by ranking members of the brutal terror group, including Gen. Abu Obaida Al-Jarrah, Director of Military Medical Services Saeed Saoudi and National Security Forces commander Col. Naeem Al-Ghoul, according to the post.

Following Hamas’ massacre of over 1,200 Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023, which led to the war in Gaza, Safyia penned two screeds in the Times bashing Israel on Oct. 29, 2023, and Dec. 2, 2024.

“We are suffering and paying the price of the genocide that is happening to our people here in the northern Gaza Strip,” Safyia wrote in one op-ed.

Critics decried media giving the alleged Hamas member any ink.

“Those who platformed Abu Safyia must do some serious soul-searching, and figure out how they ended up promoting the propaganda of a literal Hamas terrorist,” NGO Monitor senior researcher Vincent Chebat said.

The Times referred to the colonel as a “pediatrician and the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza” in each op-ed.

Neither Safyia nor the Times disclosed his alleged affiliation with the terror group, even though Palestinian media refers to him by his military rank. He is also referred to as a colonel in a 2020 Facebook post on the Gaza Strip Medical Services page.

An IDF spokesman said Safyia was a ranking member of Hamas, and that the hospital was teeming with hundreds of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists.

Neither NGO Monitor nor the IDF accused Safyia of participating in any specific terrorist acts.

The New York Times did not respond to The Post’s request for comment. The Post was unable to reach Safyia.

The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed Safyia was apprehended during the war on suspicion of “involvement in terrorist activities.” He was not charged and was released by the IDF, but the Israeli Prison Services agency did not respond to a request for comment on his current whereabouts.

Based on the Post’s observations, the area where the remaining Hamas fighters are hiding and have been hiding underground has almost no above-ground structures.

IDF sources told the Post that they figured out several weeks ago, using various technological means to explore the tunnels in the area, that there was a large segment of Hamas fighters who had been trapped on the Israeli side.

Since then, they said that they have been slowly and meticulously cutting off underground areas where the Hamas terrorists might flee to.

The concept is to continuously narrow the underground area where they can maneuver and hide until they are effectively surrounded – similar to the way the IDF likes to surround a group of terrorists above ground.

Another possibility is that they assumed that they had so much maneuvering space underground that they would eventually easily sneak past IDF patrols back in Hamas-controlled Gaza at a convenient moment, or that they would not be detected by the IDF at all and could remain in the area indefinitely.

It may be that they thought the IDF would let them go if they were found, so as not to anger Hamas and endanger the ceasefire, being that killing 200 fighters all in one place usually would not be considered consistent with a ceasefire. The loophole here is that no one from Hamas is supposed to be in areas controlled by Israel – certainly not armed.

Finally, maybe they thought that to get back more Israeli deceased bodies of hostages, the IDF would withdraw from the area, and they would return to rule above ground.

Those who have left the tunnels appear to have done so, feeling that they ran out of any other options and were about to be killed by IDF encroachments or starve.

They also probably did not realize how quickly IDF surveillance would zero in on them and bomb them with a Hermes 450 “Zik” drone.

At the time of the October 7 massacre, about 450 Hamas terrorists had ties to Canada, and some of them were residents, Global News reported on Wednesday, citing a source familiar with the intelligence.

This number included Usama Ali, also known as Radwan and Rizwan, who the US Treasury Department claimed was appointed as head of the Hamas Investment Office. Ali holds both Lebanese and Canadian citizenships, and his location is currently unknown.

According to the Treasury Department’s release, the Hamas Investment Office held assets valued at more than $500 million, including stakes in various international companies. The office handled daily portfolio management to fund the terrorist organization. Unmute

“It’s a strategic long-term investment,” said former US Treasury official Matthew Levitt in an interview with Global News. “You are living off the income that the companies are generating.”

The Treasury Department also alleged that Ali served on Hamas’s Executive Committee and was a member of Hamas’s Shura Council, which elects Hamas executives and decides on Hamas strategies and laws. He was in contact with Hamas leaders, including Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh and Political Bureau Deputy Chief Salih al-Aruri.
