I am an airborne poison drifting through the ducts;

A viscous black sludge that reeks and seeps through the vents.

I am bloodstains on the bathroom tiles.

I am the shattering of the mirror,

And shards of broken glass in your eyes.

I am the bleak death of a lover --unexpected.

I am the long life of a killer--unwished for.

I am jealousy, and lunacy, and anxiety,

And every other thing that keeps your lights on after midnight.

I am death,

But more tragic than that:

I am life.

I am the sickness inside your head;

I eat away at logic, and determination, and self respect,

Until there is nothing left

Save the rot between your ears.
