☆ Pov: you spend your hot, weary days with Haley ☆ ♡ wrds: 1.2k ♡ Genre: Fluff ♡ Pairings: Haley x Fem!reader
You cringe at the amount of sand that slides off your sandal. Summer was never something you enjoyed, specifically the beach. The sticky sensation of sweat beading on your forehead as the sun burns your skin, heating you up to the point you begin to hallucinate about a nice, chilly autumn day in August. The only reason why you tagged along to this suffocating trip was because Alex and Sam begged you to and maybe offered you to take your shift at Joja’s market for a 2 weeks and a half.
You swipe off the remaining sand off your sandal and slip it back onto your foot, your forehead creasing with irritation. You flop back down onto the sand, mumbling curses under your breath, and grab a nearby fan. Fanning yourself with a sense of urgency, a sigh leaving your lips as the breeze cooled your burning skin.
A finger curls around the thin strap of your bathing suit and tugs it with force. A yelp escapes you in shock, body stiffening for the harsh impact of the strap against your sensitive skin.
A laugh erupted behind you, your heart skipping a beat.
Haley.
“You’re so stiff. Loosen up a little,” Haley teased, her finger gently placing your strap back onto your shoulder.
You threw her a playful yet stressed glare over your shoulder. Haley grinned, taking a seat next to you on the baby blue beach towel. You couldn’t help but notice her lips were coated in pretty pink glittery lip gloss, the same strawberry scented gloss that you had gifted her for her birthday. She had mentioned how much she wanted it whilst you two were flipping through magazines together back in the coziness in her room and you couldn’t help but give into those pleading eyes when she had asked you to buy it for her, even if you had ventured out into the confusing city of ZuZu, outside the comfort of Pelican town.
You don’t regret it. The pink complimented the tan of her skin so well, it left you breathless.
“I’m stiff because I'm hot,” you ignored the sudden warmth blooming across your face, convincing yourself it’s because of the blazing heat. “Aren’t you hot?”
“Nope. Alex gave me a popsicle earlier and I took a small swim in the ocean earlier. I’m enjoying the heat,” She hummed. She took it upon herself to loop her arm through yours, the many droplets left by the ocean on her skin melting onto yours.
The soft clamminess of her skin melted the angry creases off your face, settling for a soft smile as you leaned against her. “And you didn’t bring me one?” You joked.
“I forgot to ask you if you wanted one. Sorry,.” she pursed her lips awkwardly.
“That’s fine. I’ll just get one later,” you shook your head with forgiveness. You didn’t mind. Her being by your side, touching and speaking to you, was more sweeter and fulfilling than any stupid popsicle.
♡
You kept to your promise and brought a popsicle. You brought Haley an ice cream sandwich as well, not wanting to leave her out, and you always brought her something whenever you brought yourself something. Haley was never not on your mind. She invaded every space in that brain of yours but you’ll never admit that.
The two of you walked around the beach for a little while, opting to watch the sun set before heading back to the beach house Alex had thankfully rented. “Hello? Earth to Y/N? Are you even listening to me?” Haley crossed her arms as she tilted her head. She had already finished her ice cream sandwich.
Blinking multiple times, your mind clears of the myriad of thoughts and settles back into reality.
Haley furrows her eyebrows in confusion. “What were you thinking so hard about? I almost thought you were on a different planet from me,” she teased. The porch of the beach house whined under her weight as she ascended the various steps. She plopped right next to you on the swinging chair, salt and perfume assaulting your senses as the wind caressed your skin. A sudden weight was felt on your shoulder and you swore you could’ve exploded right then and there, her head nuzzling against you.
You.
You smile sheepishly and shrug. “Life, I guess.”
Brushing her now soft blonde strands over her shoulders, Haley sighs and fiddles with her mermaid necklace. “Don't live life so seriously. Look at the pretty ocean and let it guide your mind instead. Isn’t it so gorgeous?” she breathed in awe, her gentle blue eyes admiring the cooling sea from afar. If you hadn’t known any better, you’d think she’d want to swim and reside in those waves forever. Her passion, however, was to stay on land, travel the world with her little camera and capture every moment of life.
Though, all she truly wanted was to explore the world with you by her side.
Unconsciously, your head turned to look at her, the setting sun painting her tanned skin in a breathtaking tint of orange with a of pink.
“Very,” you murmured quietly.
You stiffen as her fingers slip between yours, a silent message you couldn’t decipher.
“I’m thinking that maybe next vacation we can visit this beach again but without those idiots invading our space,” she grumbled bitterly.
You couldn’t help but laugh, “I don’t think they’re invading space that much.”
“Well, maybe not you, but to me they are. It’s annoying. We can’t even watch a movie together without Sam playing his guitar or Alex tossing his football around or whatever,” she raised her head to glare at the two boys through the window who were playing video games, their voices on full volume. Now that she pointed it out, it was kind of annoying.
“True but I think you should’ve been aware of how annoyingly loud they were going to be before tagging along with us,” you smiled.
She rolled her eyes, raising your guy’s intertwined hands to the sky, the rays of the lowering sun penetrating the small spaces between. Her fingers, wrinkled by the ocean, embraced yours in a true promise.
“Whatever. I only came because of you,” she said. “I don’t think I’d survive a week with them alone.”
You bit back another smile, feeling a sense of accomplishment.
“Why me?”
Haley averted her gaze, as if she were too nervous to speak. She was silent for a moment as she played with the small ring on your finger.
“You’re the only tolerable person around here,” she bashfully admitted, a gentle blush complimenting her skin. “The only person who actually makes me feel like I belong here.” she whispered the last part under her breath. “What?’ you blurted out. You were so distracted by the fact that she was actually blushing around you that you didn’t pick up the last sentence.
Haley made an annoyed sound, shrugging her shoulders, and stood up. “Whatever, it doesn’t matter,” she forcibly tugged you off your seat and began to drag you in the house. “Let’s watch a movie, I’m bored!”
You yelped in surprise, following behind her with no hesitation. “Oh, sure,” You stammered. Watching a movie didn’t sound all too horrible. Though, you had to admit that you did enjoy a day out in the sun, despite worrying about it all week. You realized summer isn’t all that horrible, you were merely paying attention to the worst parts of summer and not the best parts—you always got to spend time with the girl you loved.
Authors note: This is my first fic I've ever published to tumblr and ever published online so I'm kind of nervous but something needs to be done about the haley drought in this community. A Letter. For The Photos, Of Course. Only The Photos.
Haley x fem!farmer ꫂ᭪݁
𑣲 fluff , pre-relationship , farmer is referred to in 3rd person as the farmer , farmer and Haley don't actually meet here but they're both down bad so close enough 𑣲 SYNOPSIS (to some extent... I guess...?) Haley just got back from taking photos of cows with the farmer. Her sister won't stop annoying her and two women keep talking to the farmer! Whatever, who cares?! Anyway, she writes the letter, it's dumb. Whatever, who cares? The farmer probably threw it away into the fireplace. Whatever.
A/N: My first work ever!! It's really scary to post but I hope you enjoy!! (wow, anxiety is seriously a bitch) I kind of suck at making synopsis' and my writing is not the best (duh) but like... why not, you know? Uh, I'm scared but yeah! Idk I'm yapping a lot sorry omg.
NOT PROOFREAD (I'm thugging this out I guess)
architectofghosts ~ spark [2026]
𑣲𑣲 Haley wasn't sure what was worse; the fact that she had fallen off of a cow and onto the dirt that ruined her clothes or the fact that she wasn't even as mad as she thought she'd be.
It was all her fault.
That farmer.
Stupid stinky smelly sweaty smiley farmer. Haley sighed, running her hand through her hair as she stared at herself in the vanity in front of her.
"Stupid farmer," Haley hissed, her voice holding just a hint of any actual grudge, "Stupid stupid stupid farmer."
Haley glared at herself for even blaming the farmer. It wasn't really her fault that Haley was desperately attracted to her, nor was it her fault that Haley didn't know how to show that she was so desperately attracted.
"Haley, do you have ink? My pen ran out of it!" Emily asked, barging into her room.
Haley stared, why would she have ink?
"Why're you wet? Did you just shower?" Emily asked curiously, leaning against the door.
"Yeah, I messed up when taking photos in the forest, needed a shower or else I'd die." Haley explained calmly. Not technically a lie but she really didn't need her older sister knowing about whatever she felt for the farmer.
Emily would probably tell her boss Gus, who - bless his heart, would try to set them together, Haley and the farmer.
Haley could not have that happen. Ever.
Having Gus try to help them get together because Haley herself couldn’t do it? That thought was so embarrassing she might die from just thinking about it.
Haley x Baker!Reader
She comes in every day, buying exactly one tea and one small pink cake. You know her order by heart now. Stardrop leaves, brewed for three and a half minutes, one sugar cube and a sunflower for decoration. The cake must be made lactose free (you both learned that the hard way, apparently she’s lactose intolerant), but you’ve been experimenting with goat milk from the local farmers. You haven’t mentioned it to Haley yet, not until you perfect the recipe.
Haley always gives a tip, even when she used to insult your taste in decoration and clothing. Maybe it’s because you’re the only one selling desserts and non-alcoholic drinks in town. Those tips are generous and kept you afloat back when you first opened your shop.
Haley asks you to compare the Zuzu city coffee shops against your own. You spend the entire trip wondering if this is just a friendship thing or if Haley likes you. Haley begrudgingly admits that the coffee shops in the city are no match for your own, and you point out most of them are chains.
A trip to Zuzu city becomes your weekend tradition, heading into town with Haley to check out art installations, or new coffee shops, or just wander around.
hello! if it’s okay, can i request a haley x short!fem! reader where she’s a magazine model in the city but has a lot of social anxiety so her parents and grandpa insists she stay in pelican town to meet new people outside work
if you’re comfortable, you can also add some nsfw into it hehe thanks!
Sweet talker ᯓ★
After moving to Pelican Town, with hopes of easing your anxiety and leaving your lifestyle behind, you form a bond with one of the villagers.
haley (stardew valley) x fem!reader (who used to model)
word count: 1,054
a/n: tysm for the request and i hope you enjoy this anon! if you want a pt.2 with possible nsfw content, i can do that for you.
The amount of times you’ve come home with aching limbs from holding too-long poses, and a headache from the flashing of the camera in front of you is too many to count anymore. You never could’ve expected to gain this much attention in the industry. At first, you only tried it out for fun, and as a simple way to attempt to boost your confidence.
Yet, the confidence you seem to ooze in all these photoshoots is all just a show.
In fact, ever since gaining this traction, your anxiety has only seemed to worsen. It’s gotten to the point people will recognise you on the street while you’re doing a quick grocery run, asking for a picture or autograph. And while you’re eternally grateful, the interaction with strangers naturally spikes your heartrate.
It had gotten so bad that you’d call your parents up in tears multiple times a week, trying to explain this feeling which you can’t control.
It was then that they had decided for you. Enough is enough.
“You should move into your grandfather’s old farmhouse.” They had explained to you one evening, the idea never once crossing your mind. “It’s quiet out there, with new people. It would be good for you, sweetheart.”
You knew that your grandfather had left his old place for you, whether you wanted to take the offer or not was in your hands. The idea of being alone, in a whole new place with people you don’t know… it was terrifying.
But with your parents’ gentle coaxing and promise of keeping in touch, you made your decision.
