They arrive in Halamshiral in regalia only to find the city is not as Ellana heard from stories. Class divides are as clear as the stone wall separating the Quarters and Sera makes sure that Ellana sees the dirty underbelly of the city while she dines on golden plates. Josephine’s family story leads them into the path of a guild with a deadly mission.
I assumed that when people used to go places dependent on horses and dirt roads and such, they would need to arrive in advance in order to make sure they’re there on time and probably see other people before the event so there are two other chapters before WEWH actually starts.
However, I enjoyed them a lot. I almost spiraled out into an AU idea spawning from the next chapter, but I wrote a By Gods Taken chapter instead. Could be fun in the future to write it or utilize it in my DA Tarot short story idea.
