Not good enough -Oikawa Tooru
“AHH—WAIT! Y/N! Don’t go—lemme walk you home!”
you turned around halfway through the door with that same little smirk.
“no need. i can walk by myself.”
“no, i insist. there are creepy weirdos out there. i won’t feel right unless i walk with you.”
“oh please,” you rolled your eyes, grabbing your jacket properly this time.
“trust me, no one would dare.”
“ahhh, fine then,” he sighed with a hand on his hip, pretending like he lost the argument.
“come on. let me walk you halfway. then you can act like you're strong and independent.”
“i am strong and independent.”
“ahh alright fine,” you said, sighing.
“come, walk me home. then you go straight home.”
“aww, y/n-chan cares about me~”
You really meant all that.
Oikawa’s heart was beating so fast.
He hadn’t felt this kind of warmth in a long, long time.
You talked about your passions, volleyball, and what you’re gonna do after high school.
It’s been so long since Oikawa had a normal, calm conversation with a girl who wasn’t fangirling, giggling, or asking for a selfie.
You were walking through the quiet dead of the night, cool wind brushing by.
“I haven’t had a conversation like this in a long time,” he said after a while.
“With a girl who wasn’t giggling and asking for my autograph.”
Then you looked up at the sky.
“What’re you looking at?” he asked.
“The stars…
It’s beautiful tonight.”
But Oikawa wasn’t looking at the stars.
He was looking at you.
“Yeah… breathtaking,” he muttered under his breath, not sure if you even heard.
But your eyes shifted, and your lips curved a little.
“I know you’re looking at me, Oikawa.”
You smiled that little smirk again.
Oikawa’s heart skipped a beat.
You smiled that little smirk again.
Oikawa’s heart skipped a beat.
You walked a little further.
“Yep, this is me. My stop.”
Oikawa didn’t want you to go.
He wanted you. He wanted to listen to all your passion. He didn’t want to let you go.
You both stood there, staring at each other in the dead of the night, the moonlight shining brightly above.
“So… I was thinking, umm… maybe I can see you, like after school… like, uh, outside,” he said quietly,
“if you want.”
He was blushing so hard, you could see it even in the dim light.
You smiled and said,
“Text me, Oikawa.”
He watched you walk away, heart pounding like crazy, the night feeling a little warmer now.
