With everything thatâs going on, I was thinking about the relevancy of this project. It always terrified me to fly our products all over the world - from Margate to Japan. So we tore up the rule book, and began making similar products but with localised ingredients only available in Japan. Localised production allows us to still be a global brand, share the same values as Margate but with a more conscious supply chain."

The Barn Somerset & That Copper Bath
Back at the beginning of summer, I saw another local influencer post about being at this place called the Barn. It looked like the cutet little place tucked away in the country side. But not so far in the country side I would never be able to visit, or the chances of me visiting be that unlikely. And in all honesty, I was going to ask Paul if we could go there for my birthday ! What can I say, Iâm a planner â and truthfully my birthda is only 3 months away haha! Luckily enough for us â I got a quick little message from the owner of The Barn, Kelly â inviting us to come in for treatments⊠Obviously we leapt at the opportunity. So on the cloudiest, dreariest Monday â we packed our bags, and had a quick 30 minute drive into the countryside. And I mean proper country side, I mean like⊠the roads are so narrow, barely the one car is fitting on the road country side lol. Anyway I digress, we headed into the country side, and found the beautiful Barn tucked away, ready for us to visit ! And I do not know about you⊠But although I have heard how amazing this venue is in the summer⊠I loved visiting it on a day like this where it was so miserable outside -and we were just able to get inside, get cosy, and enjoy our treatments ! Upon arrival we were greeted by Kelly, the owner - and staff. And they are literally the warmest women out there, we felt instantly welcomed. The second impression that I think I can speak for both Paul and I, was ⊠the dĂ©cor of the place. OH, MY, GOSH !Â
If Kelly wants to come make the interior design decisions on our home⊠she is welcome at any time. Paul was able to head in for an upper body massage, whilst I was able to take in the benefits of a copper bath that is located on site. And not only is the bath gorgeous to look at, and not only is it so amazing cause the water stays warm for so long because of the copper. But Copper has been known to have a resorative effect on joint movement, and connective tissue by reducing inflammation assosiated with arthritis. ⊠which if you have been following me for a while now, and you know the old athritis back I have, and arthritis sciatic joints I have. You know that this was the major selling point for me. I was able to soak in the tub for about 35 minutes â Kelly told me I had to sit in there for a minimum of 20 in order to reap any of the benefits. And truthfully as much as I was relaxed, it is crazy how hard it is to actually turn off and⊠relax fully. What I havenât mentioned is the delicate rose buds that Kelly brings over from Morocco that offers the most amazing scent that eventually will help you wind down as they soak with you in the tub. As well as the Haeckels seaweed that is added to the water to give extra nourishment to your skin ! Which FUN FACT : this seaweed is sourced from the east side of the country ! After I soaked all of this up, it was time for me to get an upper body massage ! And as someone who goes to physio therapy every week â and still often left in pain. This is the part I was most excited for! I can see why you go for a soak and the right into the massage â my body felt that much more prepared for my massage. Kelly was able to work out any last bit of tension that I had in my upper back, however it wasnât done in an overly aggressive way that had me feeling more rough then when I walked in there. But it also wasnât so soft that it felt like she did nothing. It was such a reminder that a treatment doesnât need to be aggressive in order for it to work. I cannot wait to go back and visit the Barn â I think next time I will bring a book with me, or my headphones even better to realllllly try and turn off, and soak up the experience. No pun intended lol. Have you visited The Barn before ? What is your favourite treatment to get done here ?Â
