Moriah: Dassy, sweetheart, before you go to bed, can we have a talk?

Dassy: Sure Mom, I'm not in trouble, am I?

Moriah: I've just been thinking, have you met any nice young men at church?

Dassy: Uh, no, not really. I'm not sneaking around with anyone, I'd tell you and Dad if I'd been asked to court, I promise

Moriah: That's not what I was worried about, sweetie. I'm just asking because you're twenty-four now, and you really need to think about getting married.

[Dassy sighs, she knew this conversation was coming]

Dassy: I know Mom, but I just don't really like any of the guys at church.

Moriah: Well, you really need to keep an open mind. I was sixteen when I started courting Dad, that's almost ten years younger than you are now, and I was eighteen when we got married. It's going to be harder to find a nice man the longer you wait, sweetie.

Moriah: Men generally want their wife to be a little younger than them, Dassy, so you're going to have less men interested in you the longer you wait. And I had two kids by your age, if you wait to get married, you and your husband are going to have a smaller quiver.

Dassy: I do want to get married, Mom, I just don't like the guys at church, and none of them have asked to court me.

Moriah: Well, make sure you're praying about it, and keep an open mind. You’re very pretty, and you’d be a good wife – I’m suprised Beth got married before you. It would be such a shame if you ended up in the same position as Auntie Jessica.
