Dancing Sword - Senkou (Japan)
So... I'm going to do something a bit different than usual with my talk of Death Battle today. I rewatched the Kratos Vs Asura episode as well as decided to check out someone's review of said episode, and I got to thinking a bit on Atreus & Mithra. I think the two could get along and be friends... and I had a funny idea of the two hanging out and needing someone to be a neutral party, maybe a bodyguard while that happens.
First though as to who could be that neutral party and/or bodyguard: War from Darksiders! Admittedly this one popped in my head because I remember that Liam O'Brien voices both Asura and War... I also had the idea of Death or Strife being the one to act as the bodyguard to the two as they hang out. Fury could also maybe work, but considering she goes on to become Humanity's protector at the end of her game, maybe she's busy elsewhere.
Other ideas for who could be the bodyguard in this instance are Nero from Devil May Cry, Jeanne from Bayonetta, and the Nahobino or Demi-Fiend from Shin Megami Tensei. Nero because he's another Hack n Slash character. Jeanne for a similar reason. The Nahobino and Demi-Fiend because I think they could have interesting interactions.
...I also kinda want to write something of a rewrite of sorts of the Kratos Vs Asura battle...
Going into that, I'd probably mostly rewrite the beginning and ending of the battle itself. I think the beginning of the battle, in a way the "why" of the conflict happening, just feels a bit weak. I think Kratos having a vision of sorts of Asura neat, but I think it would have been better and maybe worked a bit more thematically if Asura showed up at Kratos' doorstep. An idea as to why he's at the doorstep is that this could be during a point of when Asura is cast down to the planet and may be wandering. Kratos seems to like a bit of solitude during the Norse Saga, so Asura wandering to his doorstep could leave Kratos a bit on edge, I think. Eventually, the two come into conflict as things go forward.
As for the ending, I think I can agree Asura winning makes a bit more sense. I will likely have it that Asura wins BUT have it that Asura succumbs to his wounds essentially. A bit like how All Might Vs Might Guy went down, there would be a winner, but both would still die in the end.

Best Hack N Slash games? ⚔️
Skinwalker: What to Expect from SISMO Games
Skinwalker is a brutal hack ’n’ slash action platformer game due to be built for Steam Deck and Linux with Windows PC. All thanks to the relentless creativity of the team at SISMO Games. Due to find it way onto Steam. Alright folks, let’s talk about something that immediately caught my attention during the Galaxies Showcase. Skinwalker, the brand-new hack ’n’ slash action platformer project from Team17 Digital and SISMO GAMES. This isn’t just another action title. It’s a gut-punch of a story wrapped in fast-paced combat, dripping with atmosphere with sights on handheld support. While making me question what I’d be willing to sacrifice.
....developed in Unity. The version we are currently working on for Linux is initially the one intended for Steam Deck.
After launch, SISMO plans to bring Skinwalker to even more platforms and languages, making sure as many players as possible can dive into the experience. At its core, Skinwalker throws you into the shoes of a burned-out scientist who’s been pushed to his absolute limits. His daughter is dying from a terminal illness, and the only hope lies in something dark and otherworldly — a mysterious creature locked away in his father’s research facility. To save her, you cut a deal. You swear allegiance to this monstrous being. In exchange for its freedom, it promises the cure you’re so desperate for. The catch? You fuse with it, give up pieces of your humanity, or you become something more… and something less.
Skinwalker | Announc e Trailer
And that’s where the title gets its teeth. You don’t just play the scientist. You become the Skinwalker. In human form, you’re fragile, grounded, a reminder of what’s at stake. But when you unleash beast mode, everything changes. Suddenly you’re faster, stronger, and downright terrifying. You’ll be dodging, clawing, and ripping through enemies with a raw brutality that feels ancient. Doing so like some primal wrath that’s been waiting for you to let it loose. What excites me most, though, isn’t just the combat (though that looks sharp as hell). It’s the storytelling. The devs are promising a narrative that’s not only emotional but personal. Your choices matter. The decisions you make affect how the story unfolds and, most importantly, the fate of your daughter. That kind of moral weight, mixed with fast-paced action, is exactly the kind of experience that stays with you long after you put the controller down.
Compatibility
And don’t worry, Linux and Steam Deck, Skinwalker is aiming at both platforms, alongside Windows PC in 2026. Not having to wait to long wondering if we’ll get support. This one’s built with us in mind from the start, and yes, you can already wishlist it on Steam. The environments also look like they’ll carry the emotional punch forward. Due to move from cold, oppressive labs to wide open forests and mountains, each mission driving you further into this desperate journey. You’re not just fighting enemies; you’re fighting time, doubt, and your own unravelling humanity. Bottom line? Skinwalker isn’t just another action title. It’s a dark, emotional quest where the stakes couldn’t be higher. It asks the ultimate question: How far would you go to save someone you love? I’ve already hit that wishlist button on Steam. If you’re into hack ’n’ slash action platformer games that mix raw combat with storytelling that cuts deep, keep your eyes on Skinwalker. This one’s going to hurt and that’s exactly why I can’t wait.
