#gullswoop

I think this is a good time to draw the entire Snowbird line actually. But for now, here's Gullswoop - the ShadowClan gossip enthusiast.

She was one of the kits in Snowbird's (hopefully) last litter, with her littermates being Frondwhisker and Conefoot. She was born during Darktail's reign over ShadowClan, meaning that her kithood was probably pretty harsh. She temporarily found shelter in both ThunderClan and SkyClan, before finally becoming an apprentice in the freshly reformed ShadowClan.

Both of her littermates were killed during The Impostor's reign, leaving her as the sole survivor of her litter. She seemed to handle it pretty well, though, since she's all silly and sassy not long after, teasing Shadowsight along with Lightleap and Snaketooth. This is also the first time she shows any personality, and so far it has been pretty consistent.

And then, in A Starless Clan, she is one of the most fun characters. She's one of Sunbeam's friends, though the latter is constantly annoyed by her nosiness. Not that Gullswoop is ever offended by it. Overall she's a really good friend, aside from her gossipy tendencies. She attempts to cheer Sunbeam up on multiple occasions, even if she ends up only annoying her further by accident. And she's just funny in general, a silly, unserious, nosy kitty.

She was super excited when Nightheart came to ShadowClan for Sunbeam, though it might have been partially because of the gossip potential. But either way, her reaction means that she is at least approving of switching clans, which is way more than you can say about her older sister, Berryheart. And speaking of Berryheart, Gullswoop also noticed how unfair the tasks she was coming up with were and ended up bickering about it with her other sister, Yarrowleaf. I don't think Gullswoop was ever actually even mentioned to be their sister... I mean, I can see why. It would be potentially awkward, since it would portray her as Sunbeam's aunt, even though she's a consistent part of Sunbeam's friend group. But then again, warrior cats don't even have a term for "aunt", so if anything they would probably just be acknowledged as kin. Which they weren't, I'm pretty sure...

Anyway, aside from being accepting of half-clan relationships, she still seemingly has a dislike for cats outside of the Clans. She was briefly, mildly xenophobic towards Blazefire for not being clanborn, though it might have been just another attempt at trying to cheer up Sunbeam. And it's not like she was openly hostile, she just apparently considers him to not be as much of a real warrior as a clanborn cat would be.

I think her name is pretty fitting, since she has no concept of personal space or boundaries, similarly to actual seagulls. I imagine Snowbird must have been super proud of coming up with that name actually. I mean, she got a white kit... What should she name it? Snow, Ice, Frost, Cloud...? That's all basic... But a Gull? It's also white, but it's something new and original. She probably had a similar thought process with the other kits in this litter. The fact that she even had the creativity to come up with new, fun names after so many kittens is honestly admirable.

Design-wise, I think I made her a pretty solid mix of her parents. She's white like Snowbird and has her darker muzzle, along with the wing-shaped elbow and ear fluff. From her dad she got the mask-like face marking, darker tail tip with a singular stripe and darker ear tips, along with his eye color. She also has a single darker leg, just because I felt like giving her one.
