Hierophant - Archdruid/GM

Regfiann - Captain of the Fianna

Fianna - Officer

Eclipse - Veteran

Crescent - Standard Member

Starlight - Initiate

OOC Rank:

Void of Course (VoC) - This is a rank assigned to players that have broken a rule in our Code of Conduct which can be found here. Once assigned this rank, more rules cannot be broken during the probationary period, otherwise you will be asked to leave the guild; the same goes for repeatedly earning this rank.

Civilians: Tradesmen, Craftsmen, and other non-combat members.

Oghma: Spellcasters and those with an affinity for magic.

Airmid: Healers, both magical and mundane.

Thornmane Regiment: The main fighting force of the Circle. These are elite warriors, sentinels, and combatants that answer the Hierophant’s call to arms.

Currency

Gloam-bound Scrips are distributed by Circle of Dusk officers for use while trading with the renowned artisans of Rivermouth. A wide variety of services can be found within the trading hub of Shal’danil; an apothecary, stablemaster, armorers, blacksmiths, fletchers and more! Use our IC currency to earn rewards and items to further your character’s reputation as well as skill in combat!

Several quality scrips may be awarded for completing missions, attending events, guild competitions...etc. The first three ranks of scrip may be used to purchase custom armor, weapons, and jewelry. The final rank (platinum) is used to purchase heavily controlled rewards that may greatly affect your character; from mounts to real estate within Shal’danil, rewards of this caliber are highly sought after.

(Four of one kind of scrip may be traded in for one scrip of the next rank up. ie. x4 Bronze may be traded in for x1 Silver)

Bronze Gloam-bound Scrip (+1 enchantment)

Silver Gloam-bound Scrip (+2 enchantments)

Golden Gloam-bound Scrip (+3 enchantments)

Platinum Gloam-bound Scrip (used to buy plots of land, mounts and legendary items)

Crafting Armor, Weapons,Trinkets, and Scrolls

When commissioning an artisan to craft a custom piece of equipment three scrips of a kind are required. Items crafted will have the base attributes/abilities of its item type in addition to enchantments requested. With each rank of scrip (excluding platinum) an additional enchantment slot on the item becomes available. The complexity of an item may affect the number of real-life days needed to create it, the formula for this (x•3), where x is the amount of enchantment slots. ie; a bronze level item will take 3 days to make, while a golden level item will take 9. Items created should be added to your character sheet, color the item name to reflect its quality.

Even though we like to maintain an open and lighthearted atmosphere, the Circle of Dusk does have a few rules that we ask you abide by;

Conflicts between members should be kept out of public channels used by the guild. Take it into a private DM if you need to, not on our Tumblr either. If you need an Officer to moderate, please reach out right away. However, do not cause unnecessary drama.

Purposefully disrupting someone else’s RP is unacceptable. Be respectful of other people’s characters.

Any type of harassment (sexual, physical or otherwise) will NOT be tolerated. This will result in your immediate expulsion from the guild. Please have some sort form of proof, logs or screenshots will do.

This is a shared space! Please do not make derogatory remarks about other members nationality, ethnicity, religion, sexuality…. Etc

Each member represents our guild. Members should aim to leave others in the roleplaying community with a good impression, that means no trolling or elitism.

The guild will not tolerate constant negativity, toxicity, and personal real-life problems in our open channels; it makes others uncomfortable and ruins the atmosphere we try to maintain.

Please keep trolling out of our RP. Goofing around is alright every now and then, but when several people make complaints, it’s time to stop.

Under no circumstances will a member attempt to garner RL information about other players without their express consent. Stalking, doxxing… etc. This will result in an immediate expulsion from the guild.

We ask that you remain active within the guild. Repeatedly missing guild meetings or events, or remaining offline for an extended period time will result in your character’s removal from the guild.

OOC conflicts should really be discussed OOC and handled there. At the same time, IC conflicts should really be addressed and handled IC. Don’t forget to communicate with people you RP with; find out what direction they’d like to take the interaction in and work together.

As always if something is wrong please bring it to the attention of the Hierophant, or the Regfiann. This is to be done in a PM, or /w. Issues will be resolved by guild leadership in a mature and respectful manner.

Thank you for the ask, and don’t be shy!  I don’t bite.  :3

You’re going to have to give me a second though; it baffles me that anyone thinks that SLAM is cool.  We’re not cool.  We’re hilariously awkward.  Or at least I am.

I also wanted to make a more personalized response but anonymous question is anonymous and personalizing is hard :( So I’m going to make this more generalized in case people ask in the future, since I want to make sure that SLAM is actually the kind of guild you’re looking for :>

SLAM is a small guild - about 33 strong with 7-12 active players.  We are technically PvX, but we have the strongest focus on PvE, dabble in WvW, and have a couple of members who PvP.  We have a level 59 Lost Precipice guild hall and run guild missions weekly.  We always aim to have fun as a group and are open to veterans and new players alike; we have almost no requirements besides don’t be an asshole.  Since the guild is small, we get to know everyone and invite new friends, never for numbers.  We use Teamspeak almost constantly, and almost any topic is fair game (as long as people are not personally insulted or attacked, which we have low tolerance for).  There are a few, myself included, who build characters and talk about lore, but the majority do not, so keep this in mind.  We also do not offer any roleplaying opportunities, although we respect the the RP community.

Most of our activity comes from relatively high-tier PvE.  We raid weekly, do T4 fractals as often as possible, and then do random things from dungeons to open world to WvW in between.  We have a high number of theorycrafters, number crunchers, and people who are willing to spend hours with the training golem in the aerodrome learning rotations.  We are not a top tier guild, but we always aim to improve.  We expect those who wish to participate in T4 fractals and raids to have done their homework and come prepared.

TL;DR: SLAM is tiny and fairly close-knit, but is always open to new friends.  We specialize in PvE and focus on high-end content, and although we do not require participation in any of these to be part of the guild, we do have expectations and guidelines (specifically) for those who wish to raid with us.  If our brand of weird, semi-casual tryhard appeals to you, fill out our pseudo application at comeonandslam.guildwork.com.  If you’d just like to come hang out with us, leave me a note.  Either way, PLEASE talk to me directly; it’s important that SLAM is a good fit for you and you’re a good fit for us.

EDIT: It was brought to my attention that I just completely blanked on the boring but essential information, so.  SLAM is an NA guild based on Fort Aspenwood (although server does not matter), and is most active from 8-11 PM PST on weekdays, some activity before and after that time frame, and really whenever people want on weekends.

Important guild information (such as raid events and announcements) will no longer be posted on this blog.

As the dictator of these guilds, I have decided to move the main guild activity off Tumblr. Tumblr is amazing in many ways, but not really for communication. Arranging guild events and giving out important info is really difficult when there isn’t any kind of commenting system.

I know it’s a bit inconvenient, but trust me, it will be so much easier to set up raid, PVP, and dungeon events and the likes.
