And Leon is going to quickly take the dagger and cross and not let him put either in his mouth. He'll give him a stuffed animal he sewed them instead to chew on.

"No, Crest, these are not for chewing on."

"You!" Piers shouted. He had just gotten out of a fight with a B.O.W. that he had managed to take on by himself and he was in his infected form. "Wait! Don't go!" He shouted.

Zeno felt sick, his body weak. He wasn’t supposed to feel this way…he wasn’t supposed to BE this way! Zeno was stumbling, trying to get away….trying to save himself.

His scars were reduced to burns and the RCS had been purged from his body. And he hated it. He was just a pathetic human now!

Zeno heard someone yelling at him from behind and he watched in horror as this mutant monster called out toward him. Zeno was a bioweapon…he had seen bioweapons. He didn’t recognize this one but he was useless to fight off a new mutation!

So on weak legs he tried running, only for his knees to buckle under him. He collapsed hard onto the ground, feeling his burns get scraped and the pain associated flashing near him.

"Uh... Thank you...!" She genuinely hadn't expected a compliment, or at least not one quite like that. Usually, when a human complimented her looks (which didn't happen often due to her actively avoiding humans for a long time), they made a crude comment about her breasts (which definitely didn't help her anxiety about them).

"Hey, would you like to grab a drink with me? I'm buying." He asked. He just didn't want to be alone after his hard day. He knew asking a stranger was ridiculous but he needed someone.

“Oh? I was just in my head thinking about something. May ask why did you think I was lost Mister?” She tries to tame her hair as she looks at the man. Surprise anyone comes up to her in middle of trying prep for a job. If it wasn’t for needing money, she would have been home by now.

"You're nothing like them."

The outburst scrambles her brain. Her mouth seems to move of its own accord, forming speech before she can adequately thumb through it and make sure it's right, but Ashley wouldn't draw back the words even if she had. Something terrible happened to these people, something terrible that squirms and twitches inside her, and - and in him, too? That's the path Ashley believes he's angling, but furthers her stance by not budging from his side.

"I don't... know what you've been through, exactly? But... you're not... trying to, um, steal me? For starters, or flinging chainsaws--how do they even do that?-- at people, and... you've still got," Ashley taps against his forehead. "This. You're talking, communicating, and you're acting as one person, instead of... instead of as a, um, cult."

Ashley grimaces at the chosen word, but honestly can't find it in her to mentally leaf through a dictionary. Her feet hurt, she's covered in more sweat than she's ever been, and she doesn't know where in the hell Leon or Luis are, if they're okay...

So, Ashley puts aside her complicated feelings regarding that word for a later date.

"If... if you're like me, then, you have the potential to turn into that... but- but Luis, you don't know Luis but he's important somehow, he has a way to get rid of it. Surgically remove it so we can't become that. Whenever we meet back up with Leon, you have to come with us. Please? Please come with us."

Ashley looks around, looks back at him.

"After all, we can't stay in the same area too long, right? So, if you wanna' walk and talk, we can. You don't have to spill any deets you don't want to, but... I'd appreciate any kind of conversation, honestly."

How long has she been gone, now? A day? Three?

"Regardless, you're... still human. We're human."

Then, wouldn't that mean...?
