Old thoughts — I've accumulated quite a few of them. Decided to write them down now, just to calm down a little.
Max and Dani first meet at the start of their careers, when Max is just joining Formula 1. An aggressive environment, rumors, pressure — but Dani is there. He'd chosen to move into endurance racing and only occasionally visited Formula 1. And there, he met Max — whom he'd already been praising on Twitter, and Max always responded brightly in the comments.
Finally, he met him in person. A scrawny but very energetic teenager, who walked around with him like an excited little girl, discussing his races.
But then Max's face fell, and he admitted that his contract forbade him from even approaching cars that could race — for his own safety. Dani, completely charmed, offers to secretly take him out in his car — a GT4-spec car that would do just fine. And so their secret outings begin.
After every Grand Prix, Max would sneak out at night to some illegal track, driven there by Dani. He was absolutely thrilled — they drove all night, just the two of them. Max started spending his entire salary on fuel and upgrades for the car.
He'd look forward to the Grand Prix — but the moment it ended, he'd already be searching for Dani with hope in his eyes, hoping they'd get to go out again.
Months passed. A year. Then he was in Red Bull. He started worrying that it wouldn't work anymore — but GP just smirked, gave him plenty of lectures, but turned a blind eye to the mischief.
After his first win with Red Bull, they went out to celebrate together. And Dani found him a GT3 car — very close to the real thing. Max was practically vibrating as he drove. Full of adrenaline, joy, gratitude — and love for Dani. He pulled him in and kissed him. Just pressed his lips to his, then pulled back.
He blushed, frantically trying to undo his seatbelt, but his fingers wouldn't obey.
For him, this was the end. They wouldn't be able to spend time together anymore. He wouldn't be able to look at him.
But Dani just laughed from his seat, watching his pathetic attempts. Instead, he pulled him in and kissed him deeply — so deeply that Max forgot what he'd been doing, just clinging to Dani, not wanting to let go, thinking this was the happiest day of his life
