i hate when people tell me i’m “not like” some of my kins just because my personality doesn’t match the stereotypical version of the species

for context, to most of my irls my main kintype/the only one they rly know much about it my canine kintype. so when i mention being felinekin or even mention felines in relation to myself atall in any way, its kinda discouraging when people tell me that “oh you’re not very cat-like tho” or “nahhh ur not a cat rly, definitely more of a dog”

similarly i know that if i told more people about my merfolk or gsd kintypes id get the same comments of my ‘types “not matching” my personality or their views of me and said species

and like, especially to non alterhumans i can get correlating one certain animal with people a lot, especially if stereotypically it fits with their personality traits alot , but that doesn’t mean u should upright tell someone that they “aren’t” or “aren’t like” some of their other less talked about kintypes

I thought it was all raptor things, because my tail suddenly started to feel too long for canine, center of gravity shifting more forward (when usually it's not that noticeable, but lately I was literally loosing some balance when completely upright), became all itchy as if feathers was put here and there.

And while I'm taking it silly - it's funny to feel this way and I just enjoy messing around with things - with friend we're joked about me being some kind of raptor (because of feathers and how my front paws keep folding in that raptorish wing-like position, close to my body), then we drastically shifted to me being a spinosaurus and something clicked, I just. Hm. Well. Maybe INDEED. (it's not proved that they didn't had feathers after all, ahah, and I like the concept. Just imagine feathered spinosaurus. Like some kind of Great Crested Grebe)
