The subtle reveal of Baby's Demon form was so cute and honestly perfect!!!!
if its no bother, could i request a continuation from that; Something the involves the other Saja Boys reaction to the 'Reader' knowing Baby's a demon. Like, one day, the group finds themselves at the 'Readers' and Baby's house/apartment and he just casually switches to his Demon Form.
Ahh Iâm so glad you liked the reveal!! đđ¤ Here you go!đ
âWaitâYou Let Them See?!â
 Sequel to: Little by Little
Summary: Babyâs been slowly revealing his demon form to you. You thought the others knew. Turns outânot like this.
-------------------------------
It starts with a knock and three bags of fried chicken.
You werenât expecting companyâat least not company in the form of all four Saja Boysâwhen you opened the door to find Jinu, Romance, Mystery, and Abby standing on your doorstep like a very attractive demonic boyband reunion tour.
âWe brought food,â Jinu said. âBabyâs texts were vague.â
âI wanted banana milk,â Romance muttered, brushing past him.
âWeâre out of soda,â Abby added helpfully, already kicking his shoes off.
Mystery said nothing, just dropped a tarot card facedown on your doormat and stepped inside.
The apartment filled fastâtoo fastâand you barely had time to throw a blanket over the couch pile of laundry before you heard the unmistakable sound of your boyfriend.
You turned just in time to see Baby walking out of the bedroom barefoot, shirtless, and completely, casually, demon-shaped.
Youâd gotten used to it. Loved it, even. He didnât always shift around the others, but latelyâat home, with youâhe didnât bother hiding anymore.
And now?
Well.
That comfort was about to backfire.
-------------------------------
The silence that hit the room was instant.
Abby froze mid-drumstick bite.
Mystery tilted his head like an owl tracking prey.
Romanceâhalfway into your fridgeâdropped a bottle of water and said, âIâm sorry, WHAT are we walking into right now?â
Jinu blinked. Slowly. Twice.
â...Is that a full skin shift?â he asked, sounding like he might need to sit down. âWith claws?â
Baby looked up.
Paused.
Looked at you.
Then looked back at the boys.
âWhat?â he said, flatly. âI live here.â
-------------------------------
Romance recovered first.
âYou live here like this?!â
âYeah.â
âWith your markings out?!â
âYeah.â
He turned to you, slack-jawed. âTheyâve seen the claws?!â
âMore than that,â you said calmly, pouring Mystery a soda without breaking stride.
Mystery hummed. âTheyâve seen the glamour down.â
Jinu choked on air.
âYou took off the glamour?â
Baby scratched his neck. âIt gets itchy.â
âITCHY?!â Abby squawked. âBro, weâve been rooming together for years and you make us sign non-disclosure forms.â
âThey're different,â Baby muttered.
You didnât say anything. Just leaned against the counter while Baby came to stand beside you.
Romance blinked. âOh my god. Youâre comfortable.â
Baby didnât deny it.
Which somehow said more than anything else could.
-------------------------------
Jinu finally stepped forward, eyes wide but not angry.
âYou let them see you,â he said softly. âLike really see you.â
He rubbed the back of his neck, claws glinting in the kitchen light.
âIt felt⌠good.â
Abby made a quiet, emotional wheeze.
âIâm gonna cry.â
âDonât you dare,â Baby grumbled, nudging him with a toe.
Romance was already on the couch, kicking his feet up dramatically. âThis is so unfair. When I dropped my disguise around my last crush, they threw a salt packet at me.â
âYou were floating and whispering in Latin,â Mystery pointed out.
âIt was a love incantation!â
-------------------------------
You smiled and grabbed another plate. âYou can all stay for dinner. Just try not to burn anything.â
Jinu blinked. âWeâre not getting kicked out? Even afterââ
You reached over and gently adjusted the edge of Babyâs hoodie, exposing more of the jagged violet markings along his neck.
âHe trusts me. I trust him. You trust him too, right?â
The boys all exchanged glances.
Abby nodded first. âAlways.â
Mystery placed a second tarot card on the tableâThe Sun.
Romance sighed. âFine. But if he starts glowing, I want it on record that I called him pretty first.â
Baby smirked. âYouâve called all of us pretty.â
âYeah, but I meant it less with Jinu.â
âI heard that,â Jinu muttered, already reaching for the takeout.
-------------------------------
Dinner became loud againâbickering, sauce-stained, full of laughter and neon chopsticks. Baby leaned into your shoulder at one point and whispered:
âThanks for not making a big deal.â
You smiled, kissing the side of his face near one of the glowing marks.
âYouâre not a big deal,â you whispered back. âYouâre just mine.â
And when the others werenât looking, he wrapped his arms around youâclaws and all.
-------------------------------
Later That NightÂ
After everyone had eaten and the chaos settled into content exhaustion, each of the boys found a quiet moment with you while Baby was in the shower, humming low and smoky under the water.
-------------------------------
Jinu found you in the kitchen.
He didnât say anything at first. Just helped you rinse the dishes. When you passed him a towel, he looked down and said, almost too softly:
âHeâs never shown that much of himself to anyone. Not even us.â
You looked up, heart soft.
âItâs not a secret,â you said. âItâs just⌠something he wanted to share. With someone who wouldnât turn away.â
Jinu nodded, jaw tight.
âThank you,â he said. âFor not turning away.â
-------------------------------
Abby cornered you in the hallway, holding a half-crushed juice pouch.
âYouâre in the safe list now,â he said, as if that explained anything.
â...The what?â
âPeople Baby wonât pretend to bite when they hug him. Itâs a short list.â
You laughed. âI feel honored.â
He grinned. âGood. You should.â
-------------------------------
Romance plopped down beside you on the arm of the couch, watching the bathroom steam creep under the door.
âYou know,â he said, tilting his head toward the shower. âItâs hot, right? That he trusts you enough to glow around you?â
You snorted. âRomance.â
âWhat? Iâm just saying. If it were me, Iâd be showing off immediately.â
He paused. A rare flicker of sincerity crept into his voice.
âBut heâs only ever shown those to you. Thatâs not just hot. Thatâs⌠something else.â
You met his eyes. He winked.
âYouâre good for him. Donât forget that.â
-------------------------------
Mystery appeared beside you later, offering you the tarot card heâd flipped earlier.
âIt changed,â he said quietly.
You glanced down. The card now read:
The Lovers.
You looked back up at him.
He gave the smallest smile. âYou brought balance.â
-------------------------------
And when Baby finally reappearedâdamp hair clinging to glowing skin, hoodie tugged on halfway, markings still dimly visible under the fabricâhe blinked at the quiet hush of the room.
âWhatâd I miss?â
âNothing,â you said, patting the space beside you.
He flopped down next to you, arms draping over your lap like it was his favorite place.
âThey like you,â he muttered.
âI like them.â
âI like you more.â
You kissed his temple, right where the markings flared faintly again.
âYeah,â you whispered. âMe too.â
-------------------------------
Next Morning
The sun is barely up when you shuffle into the kitchen wearing Babyâs hoodie.
Itâs too long on you. Still smells faintly like smoke and something citrusy and warm. Youâre mid-yawn whenâ
â...Youâre glowing.â
You blink.
Not you.
Baby.
He walks in behind you, half-asleep, completely shirtless, faint steam rising from his skin, and violet markings still very much visible all over his chest, shoulders, and neck. His eyes are a lazy shade of gold.
âCoffee,â he mumbles, walking straight past everyone and stealing Abbyâs mug.
The room is dead silent.
Untilâ
âWe get it, youâre in love,â Romance says, raising both eyebrows. âBut do your marks have to sparkle at breakfast?â
âTheyâre not sparkling,â Baby grunts, sipping.
âTheyâre glowing,â Jinu corrects, not even looking up from his phone. âSoft bioluminescence. Very romantic.â
âHeâs like a walking mood lamp,â Mystery adds.
âYou're jealous,â Baby says without heat.
âA little,â Mystery admits.
You stifle a laugh, reaching over to tug down the hoodie hanging loosely off Babyâs shoulder. It doesnât help much. The glow pulses anyway.
âYouâre still lit up,â you whisper, biting back a smile.
âYouâre still mine,â he murmurs back.
Romance makes a strangled gagging sound from the couch. âI just sat down. I donât want to get pregnant from secondhand tension.â
Abby throws a pillow at him.
-------------------------------
Eventually, someone makes pancakes.
Eventually, Baby puts on a shirt (kind of).
Eventually, Mystery stops using the steam from his skin to steep tea.
But even as the day rolls forward and the teasing settles into something warmerâsomething realâyou catch Jinu watching the two of you.
Not with suspicion.
With something like relief.
Because the boy with claws and smoke in his bones glows now.

Can I request where baby progressively shows his demon appearance more and more to reader while dating cause heâs getting comfortable? You can add the other Saja Boys
Yes, of course! đ Thatâs such a soft and beautiful conceptâI love the idea of Baby slowly revealing more of his demon form as he grows comfortable in the relationship.
Little by Little
Sequel: WaitâYou Let Them See?!
Summary: Your boyfriend is slowly relaxing his hold over his true form â not all at once, but in quiet moments over time. As trust deepens, you begin to catch more glimpses of his real self: lilac skin, glowing eyes, and the soft vulnerability he never lets anyone else see.
---------------------------------
The first time you see one of his markings, itâs by accident.
You're brushing your teeth, half-asleep in your shared apartment, when Baby walks in without a word. Heâs always quiet in the morningâstill bleary-eyed, still warm from sleep, the black sleeves of his hoodie pulled over his hands.
But today, somethingâs different.
He leans over the sink to spit out mouthwash, and when he straightens up, the edge of his collar dips just slightly. You catch it in the mirror, just a glimpse, no more than an inch, of patterned violet spreading along his collarbone. Geometric and jagged, like cracked glass under his skin.
Your toothbrush slows.
The air shifts slightly, as if the room itself holds its breath.
You donât say anything.
Not because it scares youâit doesnât. Youâve known what he is for a while now. But you also know himâthe way he wraps his jokes around silence, the way he keeps a careful distance from vulnerability unless youâre patient enough to wait him out. Like everything that matters most to him is kept behind a locked door, and youâre still learning the shape of the key.
So instead of asking, you slide a hand into his and squeeze.
He doesnât say a word, but he doesnât pull away either. His fingers twitch once before curling around yours, warm and quiet.
Later that morning, you find that hoodie tossed near the laundry basketâhalf-on, half-off, like he didnât care how it landed.
----------------------
The second time is intentional.
Youâre curled on the couch together, legs tangled, a movie playing in the background neither of you are really watching. Your head rests on his chest, his fingers tracing idle patterns on your shoulder, when he shifts and rolls up one sleeve.
You blink.
The skin beneath is no longer the pale peachy tone he wears in public. Itâs lilacâsoft and smooth, with a shimmer under the light. His forearm is crisscrossed with deep violet markings, the same jagged ones you saw on his collarbone. They trail up past his elbow, disappearing under his shirt.
He doesnât draw attention to it. Doesnât say anything. He just lets it be thereâvisible.
You lift your head to look at him.
âPretty,â you say simply.
Baby makes a quiet sound, something between a laugh and a breath he forgot to hold. He tries to act nonchalantâtries to look awayâbut thereâs a pink flush creeping up the tips of his ears.
You kiss his arm just once, near the darkest mark.
âI meant it,â you add, resting your cheek against his chest again. âYou donât have to hide things from me.â
He says nothing, but later that night he falls asleep on top of you, full weight, head on your chest, like he trusts you to hold all of him.
-----------------------------------
The claws come next.
Youâre chopping vegetables in the kitchen when Baby comes up behind you and lazily wraps his arms around your waist. Youâre used to the warmth of his hands, the quiet pressure of his chest against your backâbut today, you notice something new.
His nails are longer. Sharper. Just enough to prick slightly when he drags them gently along your side.
You pause, glancing down.
His hand rests flat against your stomachâskin still smooth, still lilac, but now tipped in elegant, curved claws. Not monstrous, but definitely inhuman.
He notices you staring and starts to pull back, muscles tense.
You stop him with a hand over his.
âI like them,â you murmur.
He doesnât respond immediately. You feel the moment where he debates pretending like it didnât happen. But thenâ
âI file them down most days.â
His voice is low. Almost embarrassed. Like this tiny part of himself, something natural to him, needs an apology.
You hum. âYou donât have to around me.â
ââŚI know,â he says, but you feel the way his arms tighten around you, the small exhale against your shoulder. Like maybe he needed to hear it anyway.
When he holds your hand that night, his claws graze your knuckles gently. Purposefully.
You donât let go.
-----------------------------
Sometimes you wonder what he sees when he looks in the mirror.
Does he only notice the claws, the cracked-glass skin, the glow in his eyes that sets him apart? Does he trace his markings and wonder if heâs too muchâor worse, not enoughâwhen heâs just being real?
Because when you look at him all sharp teeth and soft hoodie sleeves, glowing eyes that give too much awayâyou just see him. Baby. The boy who makes you ramen at 2am when youâre sad. The one who insists on watching horror movies but hides behind you at the jumpscares. The one who gets too hot at night but still clings to you like a second blanket. The one who hums off-key when he thinks youâre asleep. Who asks if you ate, then pretends he wasnât worried when you say no.
The one whoâs learning to let you see him, piece by piece.
And you love every one.
------------------------
Itâs a late Sunday morning when you finally see his full skin.
Youâre sitting on the floor of your bedroom, folding laundry in the soft buzz of summer heat, when Baby walks in shirtless. Not just shirtlessâbare-chested, relaxed, no hoodie, no long sleeves, no effort to hide.
Lilac from throat to waist. Cracked-glass markings running down his ribs. Collarbones like amethyst under sunlight.
Your breath catches.
He doesnât say anything. Just walks over with a pile of socks in his hands and flops down beside you like itâs nothing.
But you can feel the quiet tension under his casual movements. The way he pretends not to be watching your reaction from the corner of his eye.
You lean in and kiss his shoulder.
âStill you,â you whisper. âAlways you.â
This time, he doesnât hide the way his hands shake for a second before he wraps his arms around you. Doesnât hide when he exhales into your hair and says, raw and real:
âThanks for waiting.â
You press your face against his neck. His skin is warm. Familiar. Yours.
âI wasnât waiting,â you whisper back. âI was just walking with you.â
-----------------------------------
It becomes routine after that.
Claws click gently against his phone as he texts. You catch him half-shifted in the kitchen, markings crawling up his neck like vines. Sometimes his golden eyes glow when heâs laughingâfull and bright and unbothered.
He doesnât hide anymore.
You still remember the version of him from your first few datesâthe hoodie up to his knuckles, that too-cool-for-school shrug, the shadows that followed him when he thought you werenât looking. This Baby feels lighter. Not different. Just unburdened.
You donât ask anymore.
He shows you because he wants to now.
And one night, curled up together under a blanket thatâs too warm for summer but perfect for hiding in, he tilts your chin up and rests his forehead against yours.
âHey,â he murmurs.
âHmm?â
âYouâyouâre not scared of me, right?â
Your heart tugs.
âNever.â
He nods once. Then slowly, carefully, he pulls off the last barrier: a glamour spell that softened his features. The change is subtle but stunningâhis smile sharper, teeth a little longer, eyes glowing gold with slit pupils.
It hits you that this is the first time heâs let you see him like thisâunguarded, spell-less, fully himself.
You press your forehead to his, breath warm between you.
âYouâre beautiful,â you whisper.
He bites his lip. His claws flex once at your waist. Then, finally, he relaxesâmelting into your arms like he was always meant to fit there.
-------------------------------------
Little by little, he let you in.
And now, thereâs nothing he hides.
Not his markings, not his claws, not the fire in his eyes.

-------------------
𧿠Jinu
You were trying to be discreet.
It wasnât easy, thoughâespecially when Jinu entered the room and your ears perked straight up like they had a mind of their own.
He froze mid-step.
"...Was that... a twitch?"
You sighed and rubbed your temple. âThey do that sometimes. Instinct. It doesnât mean anything.â
Jinu blinked. âI thought you were wearing, like... cosplay.â
âIâm not.â
He blinked again, slower this time. Then his brain caught up and he practically leapt behind the kitchen counter.
"Wait. You're part what?"
âNeko. Half,â you admitted, flicking your tail idly. âItâs in the family. My momâs side. Itâs not that weird.â
âOh my god,â Jinu muttered. âThat explains so much. Like the time I caught you eating a raw egg with rice and you hissed when I asked if you wanted ketchupââ
âThatâs normal,â you argued.
âNot the hissing!â
You narrowed your eyes. âYouâre scared of a little tail and some teeth?â
âNo!â he yelped, straightening up. âI'm not judging! I justâI need to recalibrate my worldview! Give me like, five minutes. Maybe ten.â
You tilted your head at him and let out a slow, challenging purr.
ââŚMake it fifteen,â Jinu said faintly, ears turning red. âIâm gonna have to rewatch that cat documentary.â
-------------------
đŞ Abby
You were curled on the couch with your tail wrapped neatly around your legs, twitching now and then like you were dreaming even while awake.
Abby peeked over from the kitchen, mid-snack.
ââŚYou okay, kitty?â
âIâm fine,â you murmured sleepily.
He padded over, plopped onto the floor in front of you, and propped his chin on the edge of the couch. âYou look like my cat used to when she wanted to curl up on someoneâs chest.â
You gave him a slow, deliberate blink. âMaybe I do.â
Abby grinned wide and warm. âWell, lucky me.â
He tugged at your wrist. âCome here, then. You want the lap or the full bear hug?â
You hesitated. âYouâre not weirded out by the tail?â
âNah. I think itâs cute. Plus you flick it like a mood ring.â
You gave a startled little trill-laugh, and he lit up.
âThere it is again! You do make little noises!â
âAbbyââ
âWait, do you knead blankets? Like this?â He mimed a cat pawing the air. âOh my god, can I give you catnip tea? Would that work? Is that offensive?â
You collapsed against him, half-laughing, half-embarrassed. âStop. Please.â
But he just wrapped you up in his arms, strong and easy.
âIâm serious, though,â he said. âIf you ever wanna curl up somewhere safe, I got you.â
-------------------
đ Mystery
Mystery was doing his usual: lurking in shadows, pretending he wasnât watching you. But today, you were on the rooftop railing, tail twitching behind you as you leaned into the breeze.
His gaze dropped once, then again.
ââŚIt moved.â
You turned to look at him. âYeah, itâs part of me. I donât control it all the time.â
He studied it like it was alive. âIt follows me.â
âIt follows movement,â you explained. âAnd you do teleport in and out of the dark like a suspicious fly.â
He didnât respondâjust kept watching your tail with narrowed eyes.
Then he stepped closer and slowly reached out.
You turned crimson. âIf you touch it, I will bite you.â
Mystery paused.
ââŚWould that be the worst thing?â
Your jaw dropped. âAre you flirting with me or testing if I have rabies?â
âIâm gathering data,â he said simply, crouching to meet your eye level.
You swatted him with your tail. âCreep.â
He caught it, just for a second. âSoft,â he murmured. âWarm.â
Then he let go.
You looked away, ears flattened in embarrassment.
From behind you, he said in a softer voice, âI think it suits you.â
You pretended not to hearâbut your tail curled at the tip.
-------------------
đ Romance
Romance caught you halfway through pulling a hoodie up to hide your ears.
âWhoa, whoa, stop.â He grabbed your wrist with one hand and plucked the hood back down with the other. âWhat are you doing?!â
ââŚCovering them?â
âBut why?!â He looked genuinely offended. âTheyâre adorable. Iâve been waiting for the right time to ask about them, but thisâthis is slander to the aesthetic.â
You raised an eyebrow. âYou think itâs... cute?â
âI think itâs criminal that youâve been hiding them from me this whole time,â he said dramatically. âDo they wiggle? Waitâdo they flatten when youâre mad? Are they sensitive? Oh my god, is the tail prehensile?â
You flicked it across his chest in warning. âBack off.â
He gasped. âWhipped.â He clutched his chest. âYou whipped me.â
âI grazed you.â
âAnd I will never recover.â
You started walking off but he chased after you.
âWait, let me style your ears like accessories! I can make a whole neko-chic outfit for you. Little bowsââ
âNo bows.â
âMatching eyeliner?â
ââŚMaybe.â
He grinned like a cat who caught a bigger cat. âSee? Thatâs the spirit.â
-------------------
đĽ Baby
You yawned wide and stretched your arms over your head, tail flicking behind you lazily. Baby, sitting on the floor near your legs, eyed you like youâd just dropped a plot twist.
âI knew it.â
âKnew what?â
âYouâre not fully human,â he said smugly. âI felt it. I knew there was something weird when I saw you land on all fours that one time.â
You shrugged. âI told you I did gymnastics.â
âNo. You pounced. Thereâs a difference.â
You narrowed your eyes, then smirked. âSo what? You scared?â
âNo. Iâm just annoyed it took me this long to confirm it.â
Baby leaned back on his hands. âYou know whatâs funny?â
âWhat?â
âIâve been calling you âkittenâ as a joke. Now Iâm gonna keep doing it, but mean it.â
You groaned. âYou are the worst.â
âYou like it.â
âIâll bite you.â
âHot.â
You whipped your tail at him, annoyedâbut he caught it in one hand and smirked.
âThat all you got?â he teased, voice low.
You yanked it back, ears burning.
âIâm just saying,â he added casually, âif you ever feel like curling up somewhere warm⌠I run hot.â
You didnât respond, but your tail gave a single flick toward him as you walked away.
đŚBatboys x Reader â Reversed Couples Costumes
Requested by: đ anon
Note: I left the costume choices intentionally vague so everyone can imagine them as whoever they want đ
-------------
Dick GraysonÂ
Dick is leaning against the counter when you walk out of the bedroom.
He looks up, already smilingâthen pauses.
ââŚOh.â
Youâre wearing the jacket, the wig pushed back just enough to show your face, posture relaxed in a way that feels natural. The costume fits you like it was meant to.
âYouâre staring,â you say.
He blinks, then laughs. âSorry. I justâwow.â
You tilt your head. âToo much?â
âNo,â he says immediately. âActually⌠kind of perfect.â
You gesture toward the other half of the costume laid out on the bed. The skirt. The wig. The boots.
âSo,â you say. âYouâre wearing that.â
Dick follows your gaze. His eyebrows lift slowly. âOhhh. I see whatâs happening.â
You cross your arms. âIâm being the guy.â
A beat. Then he grinsâwide, delighted, already imagining it. âOkay, but only if I get to be dramatic about it.â
You laugh as he grabs the wig, holding it up to his head. âYou realize Iâm going to absolutely commit to this.â
âThatâs why I asked you,â you say.
Later, when heâs fully dressedâskirt swishing, makeup light but deliberateâhe twirls once in the living room, striking a pose.
âWell?â he asks.
You look at him. Really look.
âYouâre beautiful,â you say.
His smile softens. He steps closer, fingers hooking into your jacket. âGuess that makes us a very confusing couple.â
You lean in, forehead to forehead. âPerfect.â
-------------
Jason Todd
Jason knows somethingâs up the second you wonât meet his eyes.
âWhat,â he says flatly. âDid you break something.â
âNo,â you reply. âI just⌠have an idea.â
Thatâs never good.
You show him the reference photo on your phone. Then the costumes laid out on the bed.
He stares.
Then slowly looks back at you.
âYouâre joking.â
You shake your head. âIâm being the guy.â
Jason exhales through his nose. âAbsolutely not.â
You raise an eyebrow. âJason.â
âBabe,â he says, rubbing his face. âI am not wearing a skirt.â
âYouâve worn worse,â you counter.
Silence.
ââŚThat was different.â
But laterâmuch laterâyou catch him in the mirror, tugging on the costume with a scowl. It fits better than either of you expected. He refuses to look at himself too long.
âYouâre not allowed to laugh,â he warns.
You donât. You just step closer, adjust a strap, fix a loose strand of the wig.
âYou look good,â you say honestly.
He freezes. Then mutters, âYeah, well. You better look convincing.â
You smirk. âI do.â
At the party, Jason sticks close to you the entire time, arm hooked around your waist, daring anyone to comment.
âIf anyone says anything,â he murmurs in your ear, âIâm stealing their candy.â
You grin. âProtective girlfriend?â
âShut up.â
But he doesnât let go.
-------------
Tim DrakeÂ
Tim agrees suspiciously fast.
âI mean,â he says, scrolling through costume references, âthereâs no rule that says gender alignment has to match character roles.â
You blink. âThatâs it?â
He shrugs. âYouâd pull it off better.â
You smile. âAnd youâre okay beingââ
âThe girl?â He adjusts his glasses. âYeah. Iâve cross-dressed before.â
That checks out.
Later, he sits on the edge of the bed, wig half-on, eyeliner slightly uneven. Heâs focused, serious, like heâs cracking a code.
âCan you help with this part?â he asks.
You step closer, fingers gentle as you fix the wig, adjust the collar. He looks up at you, eyes warm, trusting.
âThis is kind of fun,â he admits quietly.
âYou look cute.â
He flushes immediately. âDonât say it like that.â
At the party, people do double takes. Tim notices everythingâevery glance, every whisperâbut he doesnât tense. He just slips his hand into yours.
âYou look very handsome" he murmurs.
âAnd you?â
He smiles. âComfortable.â
Later, when you lean against him on the couch, he rests his head on your shoulder without thinking.
âNext year,â he says, âwe should do this again.â
-------------
Damian Wayne
âNo.â
You barely finish explaining before Damian shuts it down.
âI will not be the girl.â
You smile sweetly. âYouâll survive.â
He glares at the costume like it personally insulted him. âThis is humiliating.â
âYou agreed to couples costumes.â
âYes. Not this.â
But eventuallyâafter Alfred intervenesâDamian stands rigid in the mirror, fully dressed, arms crossed.
âI look ridiculous,â he says.
You step behind him, adjusting the outfit. âYou look fierce.â
He scowls. ââŚAcceptable.â
At the event, Damian stays close, chin high, daring anyone to laugh. No one does.
âYou are⌠compelling,â he admits later, grudgingly. âAs the male lead.â
You grin. âHigh praise.â
He sniffs. âDo not get used to this.â
But when you reach for his hand, he takes it without hesitation.
okay, I know you said one request per person, but you also asked for unhinged requests. So hear me out, plz

Dick Grayson
Itâs supposed to be fun; haunted houses and flashing lights, the scent of fake fog and popcorn. But when Dick turns the corner and sees you, everything inside him stops.
Youâre lying still under the strobe lights, the flicker painting your face pale and motionless. The bloodless tone of your skin, the glaze over your eyesâitâs all too perfect, too real. His brain doesnât register latex or makeup; it goes somewhere darker, older.
He canât breathe. His knees nearly buckle.
ââhey,â he chokes, voice cracking. âNo, no, no, youââ Heâs already vaulting the low barrier meant to separate guests from actors, hands trembling as he drops beside you. âYouâre notâ You canâtââ
A staff member tries to stop him, but he doesnât hear. His hands are cold on your cheek as he touches your face, desperate for warmth, for pulse, for anything that proves this isnât another loss. His heartbeat pounds loud in his ears.
When your eyes flutter and you sit up â perfectly in character â it hits him like a gunshot. âBoo,â you whisper, voice pitched eerie.
And then you see his face. Not startled. Broken.
âDick?â you breathe, the character fading away instantly. âOh my god, itâs justâ itâs just makeup, itâs fakeââ
He steps back like youâre both ghosts. The lights flash again, catching the wetness on his cheeks.
The air is too thick, the noise too much. He canât remember the exit, canât even feel his own legs moving until heâs outside.
Later, you find him sitting on the curb, elbows on his knees, eyes still wide and wet. Heâs pale under the streetlamp, hair damp with sweat.
âIâm sorry,â you whisper, crouching beside him, gently touching his shoulder. âI didnât thinkââ
He exhales shakily and finally meets your eyes. âYou looked gone,â he says softly, voice cracking. âAnd Iâve already seen that to many times.â
You wrap your arms around him, and he clings to you like a second chance. His forehead presses against your neck, the faint tremor in his hands the only sign of how close he came to breaking.
-------------------------
Jason Todd
Jasonâs used to horrorâthe real kind, the kind that doesnât fade when the lights come on. Haunted houses are a joke compared to Gotham. But this one? This one makes his chest seize.
The second he spots youâyour body sprawled across the fake morgue table, the name tag half-torn, makeup painting every scar youâve ever earned back into youâhe freezes.
No, not makeup. His brain wonât let him think that. He sees what it used to see: cold marble, silence, the sterile scent of death. His vision narrows, heart stuttering violently.
His gunâs gone before he even realizes heâs pulled it, the world shrinking to just you. âDonât do this,â he mutters under his breath, throat raw. âNot again.â
You twitch, perfectly rehearsed, and the small movement snaps the fragile thread holding him together. He stumbles forward, shaking. âStop. Just stop. Please.â
Your expression changes â recognition breaking through the act. âJay?â you whisper, sitting up.
The word hits him like resurrection. His eyes go wide. The air in his lungs finally moves. âHolyââ He drops the gun, both hands gripping his hair. âJesus, I thoughtâ I thought I was back thereââ
His voice cracks; he canât finish the sentence. Every muscle in his body shakes, a low, half-laughed, half-sobbing sound escaping him. The other actors in the room freeze, unsure if this is part of the show.
Youâre already climbing off the table, crossing the space between you. His jacket smells faintly of smoke when you grab him, grounding him. âItâs me,â you murmur, hand pressed flat over his heart. âIâm right here.â
Later, outside, Jason paces the sidewalk while you wipe off your makeup. His boots scuff the pavement, restless, heavy. When you step close, he flinchesâthen immediately apologizes.
You press his hand to your still-beating heart. âSee? Not dead.â
He nods, jaw tight, swallowing emotion. âYeah,â he says roughly. âDonât ever look that dead again, sweetheart. Not for anyone.â
He tries to smirk afterward, to make it into a joke. It doesnât quite land. His hand stays in yours until you both stop shaking.
-------------------------
Tim Drake
Timâs exhaustedâhalf-caffeine, half paranoia, the walking embodiment of âitâs fine.â He didnât even want to come here, but you insisted. He trusts you, always has.
So when he turns a corner and finds you lying there, the breath just⌠leaves him.
Itâs surgical, the precision of your makeup. The pale tone of your skin, the hollowing around your eyes â itâs not exaggerated horror. Itâs accurate. Too accurate.
His vision fractures. The world tunnels into static. He remembers every morgue photo heâs ever cataloged, every time heâs seen someone he loves in a cold room they never left.
âNo,â he whispers, stumbling forward. âNo, you wouldnâtâyou canâtââ His hands shake so badly he canât even reach for you at first. The light flickers again, and you twitch, perfectly rehearsed, and he nearly vomits.
Itâs a full-body reactionâhis breath short, his throat burning, eyes wide and unblinking. He can feel the edges of panic clawing in, his brain trying to rationalize it away, to analyze, to detach. But it doesnât work. Not when itâs you.
âTim,â you say, voice soft, dropping character as soon as you see him.
His lip trembles, and for a second he looks like a kid againâthe one who lost too much too young. âYouâ you canât look like that,â he gets out, barely audible. âI canâtââ
You pull him into a hug, grease paint smearing against his shoulder. He doesnât care. He clings like youâre real, and for a moment, thatâs all he needs.
He stays like that longer than he should, shaking, grounding himself on your warmth. When he finally lets go, itâs slow, like heâs testing that youâll stay.
Later, you sit together outside, sharing a soda in silence. The airâs cold, quiet.
He studies your clean face, every trace of the illusion gone. âYou know whatâs crazy?â he murmurs. âEven now, my brain keeps checking to make sure youâre breathing.â
You lace your fingers through his. âThen keep checking,â you say gently. âIâm right here.â
He nods, and this time, he actually smilesâsmall, tired, but real.
-------------------------
Damian Wayne
He prides himself on controlâon discipline. Fear is a weakness, and weakness is not tolerated. But the second he sees you, that control vanishes.
Youâre slumped against the wall, your body unnaturally still, makeup draining the warmth from your skin. The detail is exactâthe shadows under your eyes, the faint blue at your lips. He doesnât see fiction. He sees loss.
He stands frozen, sword-hand twitching like he could strike at whatever dared do this to you. âNo,â he breathes, voice small, almost childlike. âNo, no, not them too.â
The world tilts. His vision fractures into the same red haze he saw when his father died, when Jason, when Alfredâ
âDamian!â you call, snapping him back. He stares as you rise, alive and confused, the illusion cracking with every movement.
âBeloved,â he manages, stepping forward. âYouâwhy would youââ His breath shudders out, shoulders shaking. He doesnât finish the question. He just grabs you, pulling you in so hard you lose balance.
Your hand curls against the back of his neck. âItâs just a costume,â you whisper against his shoulder. âI promise.â
He trembles, every muscle locked as he holds you. âIt was too real,â he says, voice muffled. âYou were cold. Youâyou didnât move.â
Outside, Damian sits with his back against the wall, eyes down, expression unreadable. You sit beside him, letting the silence hold. His hand hovers near yours but doesnât quite touch, restrained even now.
âI thought Iâd lost you,â he admits finally, voice barely a whisper. âAnd I wouldn't survive that.â
You rest your head on his shoulder, heart steady against his arm. âYou wonât have to,â you murmur.
For once, he lets the quiet comfort stay. When he finally looks at you again, itâs softerâa silent vow that no costume, no illusion, will ever catch him unguarded like that again.

May I request a one-shot with Baby, where the reader(who's part of Huntrix) gets severely injured during a mission and left behind due to(idk) reasons
Like, enemies to lovers kind of trope
...I have a vision... that I may or may not have conjured at 5 am while listening to music...-
- đŚanon
Thank you for the request! I had an absolute blast writing this. Here you go!đ
Kindling SparksÂ
Summary: When a mission goes sideways, youâre left behindâwounded, alone, and convinced no oneâs coming back. But Baby shows up, just as frustrating and smug as ever, dragging tension and fire in his wake.
----------------------
The rain had long since stopped, but the blood hadnât.
You blinked blearily up at the ruined temple ceiling, wondering if the pounding in your skull was from the collapse or your body trying to give up on you.
Somewhere off in the distance, the comms crackled uselessly.
âHuntrix regroup at point Gamma. Gamma, copy?â
Static. Then silence.
You tried to sit up and failed. Your ribs burned, and your leg wouldnât moveânot crushed, but definitely broken. All that training, and what got you was a splintered floorboard and a missed leap.
You laughed bitterly to yourself. âWhat a joke.â
The mission had been a setup from the startâtoo many demons, not enough backup. Your team had split to draw attention, and Huntrix had trusted that everyone would make it back.
Only you didnât.
----------------------
There was movement at the edge of the broken hallâcrunch of gravel, faint hiss of steam rising from scorched ground. You tensed, hand fumbling toward your dagger.
But then you saw the silhouette.
Not just a demon.
Worse.
Him.
âSeriously?â you rasped. âYou?â
Baby stepped into the fractured light, blood on his knuckles and soot on his shirt. âYou look like shit.â
âThanks.â You leaned back on your elbows, trying not to pass out. âYou here to gloat or kick me while Iâm down?â
He didn't answer right away. Just stared.
Then: âThe others left already.â
âI figured,â you muttered. âGuess they didnât notice I was missing.â
His jaw tightened, something unreadable in his eyes. âOr they figured you were already dead.â
That stung more than it shouldâve.
You looked away. âWhy are you here, Baby? Go back to your little demon frat. I donât need saving.â
âIâm not here to save you,â he snapped. âIâm here to make sure you donât turn into demon bait and mess up the ecosystem.â
You gave him a flat look. âTouching.â
He crouched beside you anyway. His hand hovered over your thigh. âBoneâs not through the skin, but itâs close.â
âWaitâdonât touchâ!â
Your body jolted as pressure flared over the injury. His touch was rough but focusedâdigging through pain, bracing the break, binding it fast with whatever strips he had. It wasnât healing, not really. But it was enough to hold you together.
You bit down on your own scream and dug your nails into the dirt. âYouâson of a bitchââ
He exhaled. âThere. Youâll still need a splint, but now you wonât bleed out like an idiot.â
You slumped back, breathing hard. âDonât expect a thank-you.â
He rolled his eyes. âDidnât want one.â
But he stayed. Even after you closed your eyes. Even after the pain swallowed everything else.
----------------------
When you came to again, it was darker, quieter. A makeshift fire glowed a few feet away, tucked carefully into a circle of broken stone. It cast long shadows on the walls, flickering like ghosts.
You blinked and turned your head.
Baby was still there.
Sitting a few feet away with his knees drawn up, absentmindedly clicking a dented lighter open and shutâopen, flick, click, shut. Over and over like a nervous habit.
âDidnât know demons could make campfires,â you rasped.
âDidnât know hunters could bleed that much and still talk shit,â he muttered.
You let out a weak scoff. âYeah? Guess weâre both full of surprises.â
His jaw clenched, but he didnât bite back. Just stood and walked over, holding out a cracked water bottle. You eyed it suspiciously.
âNot poisoned,â he said. âIâd use something more creative if I wanted you dead.â
âOh good,â you muttered, taking it and sipping. âDid you rehearse that line or are you just naturally insufferable?â
Baby crouched beside you again. âAre you always like this?â
You narrowed your eyes. âLike what?â
âHostile. Ungrateful. Pissy.â
You bared your teeth in something that mightâve passed for a grin. âOnly around you.â
âFunny,â he muttered. âIâm the only reason youâre not demon chow right now.â
You stared at him. âYou want a medal? A sticker? âI helped the wounded girl and only insulted her five timesâ?â
He stared back, firelight flickering across his face, eyes sharp as ever. âNo. I want you to stop acting like I left you behind.â
Your breath caught.
He went quiet too. Then: âI was in the area. I saw the temple collapsing. You think I wouldnât come check?â
âI didnât think youâd care.â
âYeah,â he said softly. âI know.â
The silence stretched.
Baby stood and dragged over a beam of wood, setting it like a brace next to your leg. âHold still.â
âI swear, if you burn meââ
âI wonât,â he said. His voice was lower now. Less sharp. âLet me.â
You didnât stop him.
He re-wrapped the leg with surprisingly competent hands, using your torn sleeve as another makeshift binding. When he was done, he leaned back with a grunt and looked away.
âThanks,â you said before you could stop yourself.
His brows shot up. âWhat was that?â
âDonât make it weird,â you snapped, face hot. âItâs dark. You misheard me.â
Baby laughedâactual, full-on laughed. It was low and mean and completely delighted.
âWow,â he said. âYou really canât stand me, huh?â
You groaned. âDonât flatter yourself.â
But something in the air had changedâless acidic, more smoke and tension and that awful charged awareness. You were very aware of his knees brushing yours. His shadow overlapping yours in the firelight.
You looked away first.
He didnât.
----------------------
You woke up at dawn to the sound of something cracking.
âRelax,â Baby muttered before you could grab your dagger. âItâs just wood. Fireâs out.â
You shifted. The stiffness in your leg was worse. Everything ached like youâd been beaten with a truck and then run over for good measure.
But he was still there. Sitting near the ashes, picking absentmindedly at the edge of his shirt sleeve.
âHow long was I out?â
âCouple hours.â
âYou couldâve left.â
âYeah,â he said. âBut I didnât.â
You swallowed and looked away.
He stood without a word and held out a hand. "Come on, letâs get out of here."
The walk out of the ruins was slow, painful, and full of bickering.
âYouâre limping wrong,â he said.
âIâm limping because I have a broken leg.â
âAnd somehow still dramatic about it.â
You hissed through your teeth and elbowed him in the ribs. âAnd youâre smug about it!â
He laughed againâbecause of course he didâand you hated the way it made your chest twist.
You hated the way he kept walking at your pace, never ahead.
You hated how he offered you his arm without a word when the incline got steep.
You hated how steady he was.
----------------------
You both crested the final ridge around midday, the trees opening up to a hazy view of the city skyline in the distance. Safety. Contact range. Signal bars.
You let out a long breath, pain and tension and adrenaline finally giving way to something you werenât sure you could name.
You turned to him. âThis doesnât change anything, you know.â
He raised a brow. âYeah?â
âI still donât like you.â
He took a step closer, tension sharp in his eyes like a match about to strike. âSure.â
âAnd weâre not friends.â
âDefinitely not.â
âAnd if you ever tell anyone I needed helpââ
He cut you off.
With a kiss.
It wasnât soft. It wasnât sweet. It was like everything else with Babyâhot, biting, stubborn as hell. His mouth was rough with heat and grit and frustration and god, you hated him.
You kissed him back anyway.
Because he came back for you.
Because he stayed.
Because deep down you knew the others had left you thinking you wouldnât make itâbut not him.
When he pulled away, both of you were breathless, close enough to touch foreheads if you wanted.
Reader being freaky? creative liberty is all yours.

đSaja Boys x Reader â Dangerous Words
----------------
𧿠JinuÂ
Rain tapped the roof in steady rhythm, wipers swishing back and forth.Â
Jinu drove with both hands on the wheel, jaw set in his usual concentration.Â
The city lights spilled across his face in passing waves, highlighting the sharp line of his cheekbone.
You leaned back, lips curving. âDo you know what I was just thinking about?â
âMm?â His eyes stayed on the road.
âYour hands.â You reached over, letting your fingers trail along his forearm before slipping down to rest lightly on his thigh. âThey look so steady on the wheel⌠I canât stop picturing what theyâd feel like ifââ
âYah.â His voice cracked low, a warning, but his knuckles whitened on the steering wheel.
You smirked. âWhat? Iâm just talking.â
âNot like that.â He cut a glance at you, ears flushed crimson, but he didnât move your hand. His thigh flexed beneath your touch when you gave the faintest squeeze.
The light ahead turned red. Jinu shifted gears, exhaling slowly through his nose. âYouâre trying to kill me,â he muttered.
âNot kill you,â you said sweetly, leaning close enough for your breath to ghost his ear. âJust distract you.â
For a heartbeat, the only sound was the rain.Â
Then, when the light turned green, Jinu pressed the accelerator harder than necessary. âYouâre trouble,â he said softly, though the corner of his mouth curved up.Â
And still, your hand stayed where it was â his silence permission enough.
----------------
đŞ AbbyÂ
The gym echoed with clinks of metal and the low hum of machines.Â
Abby was in his element â sweat slicking his temples, biceps flexing as he pushed through another set on the bench press.Â
You spotted him from across the room, towel draped over your shoulder.
âYou know,â you said casually, crouching at his side, âyou make the most distracting noises when you lift.â
He huffed, bar lowering to his chest. âDistracting?â
âMm-hm. Like⌠someone should check if youâre actually working out or auditioning for something else.â
His grin faltered mid-rep. âWaitâare you sayingââ
âYeah.â You leaned closer, lips brushing the shell of his ear. âSounds kind of like youâd sound in bed.â
The bar nearly clanged against the rack. Abby scrambled it up with a startled laugh, cheeks flaming. âYou canât just say stuff like that when Iâm under two hundred pounds of steel, babe.â
You smirked, handing him the water bottle. âGuess I should test my theory later.â
He coughed into his drink, sputtering. âYouâreâunbelievable.â
âFlattered.â
His chest was still rising fast, not from the set but from your words.Â
Finally, he wiped his face with the towel and leaned closer, voice low. âFine. You win. But when I prove you right, donât act surprised.â
----------------
đ MysteryÂ
The library was too quiet, too proper, too full of watchful silence.Â
Mystery sat opposite you, hood drawn, flipping a page with lazy precision.Â
His bangs cast shadows across his face, but you could see the corner of his mouth twitch whenever you shifted in your chair.
Leaning forward, you rested your chin on your hand and whispered, âDo you know what Iâd rather be doing than reading right now?â
His eyes flicked up, golden in the dim light. ââŚNo.â
âSomething thatâd get us kicked out of here fast.â
A pause. He blinked once, then slowly leaned back, gaze locked on yours. ââŚSay it quieter.â
You did â breathy, barely audible, painting the words with just enough detail to make his ears pink under his hair.Â
He didnât interrupt. Didnât even move.Â
Just stared, frozen, as though committing each syllable to memory.
When you leaned back, grinning smugly, he exhaled through his nose, shutting the book in front of him. âYouâre⌠dangerous.â
âAm I?â
ââŚYes,â he said simply, pushing the book aside. His knee brushed yours under the table and didnât move away. Then, softer: ââŚLater. Iâll hold you to that.â
----------------
đ RomanceÂ
The cafĂŠ buzzed with soft chatter and the clink of porcelain cups.Â
Romance sat across from you, stirring sugar into his latte with a flourish like he was hosting a cooking show.Â
His hair caught the light, gleaming, and you couldnât resist leaning forward on your elbows.
âDo you ever think about how easy itâd be to ruin you right here?â
His spoon froze mid-stir. â...Excuse me?â
âTableâs small. People close. All Iâd have to do is lean across andââ You whispered the rest, voice low enough that only he could hear.
His eyes widened, mouth parting.Â
A second later, he barked a laugh, covering it with his hand like he hadnât just nearly spat latte foam. âYou cannot just say that in public!â
âWhy not? You love drama.â
âI love controlled drama,â he hissed, glancing around. âNotâ not whatever this is.â
You smirked, tracing the rim of your cup. âThen admit youâre flustered.â
He leaned closer, smile curving sly now. âFlustered? No. Absolutely not.â But his foot tapped anxiously against yours under the table, and when you held his gaze, his ears burned pink.
âAdorable,â you teased.
âDangerous,â he shot back â though his grin gave him away.
----------------
đĽ BabyÂ
Evening traffic pressed in all around â neon signs flashing, people weaving past in noisy currents.Â
Baby walked at your side, hood pulled low, hands shoved in his pockets.
You brushed against him deliberately, leaning just enough for your lips to hover by his ear. âIf I told you exactly what I want to do to you tonight, right here, would you be able to keep walking?â
His stride faltered. â...What?â
You repeated it, softer, painting it in sharper detail this time.
Babyâs jaw clenched, eyes darting sideways.Â
He kept walking, faster now, but his ears were a deep shade of red. âYouâre insane,â he muttered, voice tight.
âYou didnât say no.â
He shot you a look, quick and sharp, before dragging you into the shadow of a shop awning.Â
His hand pressed flat against the wall beside your head, his other curling lightly at your hip. ââŚSay it again,â he growled under the noise of the crowd.
You smiled, obliging.
This time, his eyes shut briefly, lashes lowering as he breathed out hard. ââŚYouâre not making it home untouched if you keep that up.â
Reader with crackable everything. Like the boys get used to humans cracking their knuckles sure fine whatever. But then their partner one day just goes âhold on a secâ to stretch and crack their spine, hip, etc and the boys are just horrified cause last they checked humans should not be making that sound (totally not self indulgent as my bones are totally fine and not firecrackers)
đ
Thank you for the request! I was laughing so hard when writing this. Here you go!đ
đSaja Boys x Reader â Snap, Crackle, What?!
-------------------------
𧿠Jinu
It starts with your knuckles. Jinu doesnât even look up from the laptop as you flex your fingers and pop-pop-pop. Normal. Background noise. Heâs used to it.
But then you twist at the waist and crrrkâcrk-crk-crk echoes through the room like someone just stepped on a bag of dry twigs. Jinu freezes mid-sentence, cursor blinking on his half-finished search bar entry.
Slowly, he looks over the top of the screen. ââŚWas that your spine?â
âMmhm,â you say, stretching your arms overhead with a satisfied sigh. âFeels so good.â
âGood?â His voice hikes an octave. He sets the laptop down carefully, as though sudden movement might finish you off. âYour bones just made⌠noise. Multiple noises.â
âTheyâre joints,â you correct casually. âPerfectly normal.â
He blinks. âNo. No, that sounded like when someone drops a chair down the stairs. You canât tell me thatâs normal.â
To prove your point, you roll your shoulders until they click-click-click. Jinu slaps his hands over his ears. âStop, stop, stop! Pleaseâmy human anatomy charts did not prepare me for this.â
You laugh, reaching for him. âWant me to crack your back?â
âAbsolutely not!â He jerks away, clutching the plush blue tiger on the couch like a shield. His eyes are wide, mouth somewhere between a grimace and awe. ââŚYouâre not human. You canât be. Humans arenât supposed to bend until they sound like broken furniture.â
Still, when you curl back onto the sofa beside him, he eyes you like a scientist in denial â horrified but fascinated, whispering under his breath, âHow are you aliveâŚ?â
-------------------------
đŞ Abby
The first time you crack your hip in front of him, Abby drops his dumbbell.
You were just stretching â arms overhead, leaning to one side â when a sharp pop ricocheted through the living room. Abbyâs head snapped around so fast you thought his neck might go next.
ââŚWhat the hell was that?â
âMy hip.â You straighten up, roll your pelvis, and it pops again. Relief floods your expression. âOh, thatâs better.â
His jaw drops. âYour hip?â
âYeah. Perfectly normal.â You bend forward, palms brushing the floor, and crrrrk! your spine obliges with a chorus of crunches.
Abby staggers back a step like he just witnessed a crime. âThatâs not normal, thatâs possession! Did something crawl into your bones? Do we need a priest?â
Youâre laughing so hard you can barely breathe, but heâs dead serious â already scanning the room like he might actually call someone.
âAbby, no, I swearâitâs just pressure release.â
He narrows his eyes. âPressure release sounds like what demons say before they explode.â
To prove your point, you crack your knuckles one by one. Pop, pop, pop. He flinches at each like theyâre gunshots.
Finally, he groans, dragging a hand over his face. âI canât believe my partnerâs a glowstick. Youâre justâsnapping in half every time you move.â
You step closer, grin wicked. âWant me to crack your back?â
He bolts upright, waving his hands. âNOPE. I like my bones where they are, thanks.â But when you sit on the couch, he hovers protectively nearby anyway, muttering, âSwear to god, one day youâre just gonna snap and fold in half, and Iâll be the one explaining it to the ER.â
-------------------------
đ Mystery
The living room is quiet. Youâre curled up with a blanket, heâs flipping through a battered paperback. Calm, domestic silence.
Then you stretch.
CRK-CRRK-CRK.
Mysteryâs head tilts slowly, like an owl, eyes disappearing beneath his bangs. ââŚThe hell was that?â
âMy back.â You sigh, relaxed, rotating your shoulders until another click-click punctuates the air.
He doesnât move for a long moment. Just watches. ââŚYou sure youâre not dying?â
âPositive.â
ââŚSounded like dying.â
You laugh, bending your knee until your hip gives a sharp pop. Mystery flinches. âStop doing that!â
âIt feels good!â
âThatâs what people say before addiction.â He shuts his book, leans forward, elbows on his knees. âHumans arenât supposed to make⌠sound effects. You shouldnât be walking around sounding like a xylophone.â
You wiggle your fingers at him, deliberately cracking each knuckle. He makes a noise halfway between a groan and a growl, snatching up a pillow and chucking it at your head. âGross.â
âNot gross. Just joints moving.â
âYeah, joints moving like tectonic plates.â He sinks lower on the couch, muttering under his breath. ââŚOne day youâll sneeze and your whole skeletonâs gonna fall out.â
When you lean closer, offering, âWant me to crack your back?â his entire body stiffens. ââŚTouch me and I vanish.â
But later, when you roll your shoulders and sigh again, he watches with reluctant fascination, like he canât decide whether youâre horrifying or invincible.
-------------------------
đ Romance
It happens while youâre brushing your teeth together. You lean to spit, twist your neck to the side, and crrk-crrk goes your spine.
Romance drops his toothbrush. Foam dribbles down his chin. âDarlingâyour neck!â
âWhat about it?â
âIt just made a noise! A horrible noise! Like⌠like someone stepping on a violin!â
You snort, rinse your mouth, and roll your shoulders. Click-click. âFeels good.â
âFeels good?â His hand flies to his chest like heâs personally wounded. âYour bones are crying out for help, and you call it good?â
âTheyâre not bones. Itâs just air in the joints.â
Romance paces the bathroom, dramatic even in panic, one hand in his hair. âNo, no, this isnât right. Humans are supposed to sigh or yawn, not⌠rattle like maracas!â
You laugh, bend sideways, and your hip pops. He gasps, clutching the counter for support. âHow are you still standing?!â
âItâs normal,â you assure him. âPeople do this all the time.â
âNot people I know!â He drops theatrically to one knee in front of you, gripping your hands. âPromise me youâll live to see tomorrow. Promise me your skeleton wonât abandon you in the night.â
You grin, leaning down. âWant me to crack your back?â
He recoils instantly. âAbsolutely not! My body is a temple!â Then, quieter, eyes darting down your frame: ââŚThough if you must practice, I suppose Iâll allow supervision.â
Still, for the rest of the night, every time you so much as flex a finger, he winces like youâre seconds from shattering.
-------------------------
đĽ Baby
Baby hears the first pop and thinks itâs your chair. The second, your phone case. By the third crrk-crrk-crk of your spine, his eyes cut sharply to you.
âWhat the hell was that?â
âMy back.â You stretch your arms overhead, twisting until your hip pops.
He stares, face flat. ââŚNo.â
âYes.â
âYou just broke your ass.â
âI did not.â
âYou did! I heard it!â He sits forward on the couch, pointing accusingly. âHumans arenât supposed to make snap sounds. Youâre defective.â
âIâm not defective, itâs normal.â You roll your wrist until it clicks.
His expression twists into outright horror. ââŚThatâs not normal, thatâs bones begging for mercy.â
You laugh so hard you nearly fall off the couch, which only makes your knee pop as you adjust. Baby throws his hands in the air. âSee? Even gravityâs cracking you in half!â
âWant me to crack your back?â you tease.
His eyes narrow. ââŚYou touch me, you die.â
But when you lean back, stretching again, he mutters under his breath, âDisgusting,â even as his gaze flicks to your joints like heâs cataloging each sound. Later, he sits closer than usual, as if by proximity he might catch you before you actually fall apart.
