one of my fav gideanthe scenarios are gideon and ianthe bonding over their shared case of nonagesimitis and then making out like i feel like that should be more of a thing + they have a similar sense of humor (e.g ianthe making head jokes when they found that huge guy's head and decapitated body and gideon having to contain her laugh + that kitchen scene near the end of htn)

“We need to pretend that we’re dating,” Ianthe says all in a rush, “so Harrow will see what she’s missing.” It makes sense. It shouldn’t, but it does, so Gideon nods again. She’s sure that Ianthe has already figured out all of the logistics already, so she just sticks out her hand for Ianthe to shake and forces her mouth open to say, “Deal.”

As a ship, I find it really funny how much Harryanthe reminds me of LambdaBern!

Like, sure, you've got the goth/blonde aesthetic. But more importantly, you've got the weirdly erotic gore, the near-inevitable cannibalism, the deadly rivalry, the toxic mind games, and the general premise of two immortal girls stuck together for eternity where one of them decided to spend that eternity making the other worse.

I don't, like, actively go looking for those things in a ship, but hey, I'm certainly not complaining!

That being said, while I've seen LambdaBern described as "chaos lesbians," I think it's Gideon/Harrow/Ianthe that's the TLT ship mostly likely to be a perpetual chaos machine. You kind of need Gideon in there to keep the dynamic in a balanced orbit of glorious hilarity rather than collapsing into a black hole of obsessive horror. It’s a hard thing to get right, but when fics do... *chef’s kiss*

Meanwhile Griddlehark reminds me of a lot of my favorite things about MadoHomu... it's all about that infinite devotion and two idiots who can't stop sacrificing themselves for each other because the universe apparently hates them. TT_TT
