Grey Mouse | Joelson Industries Inc, 1989

Had a hard time finding much about this toy. It seems to have been a Christmas promo item with a scarf accessory, but I found this with a heart photo frame tied to its neck that didn’t match. Joelson Industries is a promotional product manufacturer that started in 1988 doing seasonal gift items, according to their website, so this mouse might be one of the first things they made. Idk who they are, I bought this because I thought it was cute! I love the red nose and clear whiskers.

It was pretty dirty and the fur felt sticky. I sprayed it with stain remover, then hand washed and air dried it. The fur is still slightly sticky, so I think it’s just from the materials aging.

Yep, this is a pretty forgotten character. Go ahead, try looking up Miklos Mouse. I just added him to the Disney wiki, he’s barely on TV tropes, yet here’s the proof he exists.

Miklos is a doppelganger of Mickey Mouse, but unlike Mickey, is grey. This does not stop him from frequently trying to take Mickey’s place, framing him, etc. It’s actually usually hard to tell him apart from Mickey, although once Minnie tricked him into getting a tattoo so she could tell them apart, and Pluto can usually tell the difference.

In Wasteland:

This guy could easily cause a lot of trouble. Imagine Mickey coming to Wasteland, and suddenly being accused of all sorts of stuff by Oswald. Luckily Mickey is able to prove he wasn’t even here by finding Miklos and bringing him in.
