Tw.: Mentions of death, suicide, drowning, etc. + Long rambling
I donât know whoâs death hurt the most for me between Walter, Lewis or Gregory. Because while they're all tragic, their deaths specifically hit hard due to the situations that lead to that outcome.
Gregory was just a baby. You see the events of his death through the innocent eyes of a child who didnât realize what was happening or that something was wrong. His last moments were spent playing with his bath toys. Itâs a death that couldâve been so easily prevented with closer supervision. The kind of supervision an adult should have when a small child is taking a bath, but during the time of his death his parents were going through a divorce. Its important to note Kay probably wasn't in the right state of mind and was likely overwhelmed during that time period. And so like most of the Finch deaths, it happened largely due to neglect.
Lowk Gregory reminds me of Calvin too much to the point where I wonder if Calvin jst got reincarnated or something
SAM FINCH'S FAMILY
â˘Sam had secretly hoped for twins, and was slightly disappointed when Kay wasn't pregnant with twins.
â˘Although, he cheered up right away when he found out he was going to be having a daughter instead.
â˘When Kay got pregnant again, Sam was surprised. He honestly didn't expect it at all.
â˘Kay didn't get as sick as she was with Dawn when she had Gus.
â˘When Gus was born, Dawn often tried to cover his eyes or mouth to try to be playful, since Kay and Sam often played peek a boo with her.
â˘Sam often took the family out on trips, camping was a big one.
â˘The family went camping every single summer, and usually enjoyed feeding ducks, or canoeing.
â˘Gus was a very emotional and dramatic toddler growing up. Unlike Dawn, who rarely ever expressed how she felt.
â˘Sam tried to teach Gus how to swim when he was around 5-6 (he almost drowned.)
â˘Dawn used to steal Gus' kite as a result of jealousy. Gus would pull on her hair or take her books.
â˘As soon as Gregory was born, both Gus and Dawn were emotionally attached.
â˘Dawn tried to get the most turns to hold or play with Gregory.
â˘Sam always had a bigger soft spot for Gregory, since he acted like Calvin; highly imaginative and also brave in their own ways.
â˘However, Gus acted a lot like Barbara; defensive, and had a lack of attention or support, also both were hyperfixated on their hobby.
â˘Dawn is near sighted, poor eyes came from Kay (she always puts her glasses on when reading a bedtime story to the kids.)
â˘Sam also has horrible eyes, due to wearing sunglasses all the time. Poor weather, inside, outside, everyday all day.
â˘Gus could track things easily with his eyes, due to his time flying his kite, and also skateboarding (dodging upclose or farther away objects.)
â˘Gus said that Sam had an ex-boyfriend during his time in war to his friends. You could imagine how pissed off Sam was at that...
â˘Gus often yelled at and pushed both Sam and Dawn away after Gregory died. He didn't understand his to deal with the grief of his baby brother.
â˘Sam could understand how Gus felt, but due to his strict discipline during war, didn't know how to properly comfort Gus.
â˘Dawn was both sad and angry at Kay after Gregory died. She thought it was all Kay's fault for his passing.
â˘Gus once broke his arm and almost got a skull fracture from skateboarding.
â˘Dawn used to get nosebleeds often when exercising because she often got dizzy, and she wore sweaters or coats a lot when doing so.
â˘Dawn absolutely loved cheddar penguins...for some reason.
â˘Gus was weaker in the legs, although stronger in the arms.
â˘Dawn was stronger in the legs, but weaker in the arms.
â˘Sam knew that his kids probably never properly finished the workouts, or cheated in some way. He just didn't care all that much.
â˘Sam purposely woke the kids up extra-early sometimes on the speakers inside their room, since they both hated it.
â˘Gus had tried to break the speaker, while Dawn attempted to unhook the speakers.
â˘Dawn has tried to drown Gus inside their pool before once they were about 13-14, Sam banned both of them from swimming in a pool together again.
â˘Gus ate a lot of slim jims, especially before skateboarding.
â˘Once Gus died, Dawn felt both embarrassed and depressed because she didn't think of Gus or notice that he was gone during the storm.
â˘Whenever it started to rain or storm outside, Dawn would immediately go back inside out of fear.
â˘Dawn had a whole journal of every Finch member that Edie or Sam told her about.
â˘Dawn visited the graveyard often, just to talk to them and see what was laid out on top of their graves.
