And here they are: the top 9 polishes that were new to me in 2021! I'm late with this year's because I had to dig out my swatch sticks for two of these from a box (we recently moved) 🤦‍♀️ In alphabetical order we have: 💚 @beeskneeslacquer "Don't Torture Yourself, That's My Job" (a delicious mushroomy green with warm toned UCC flakes - to die for!) 💚 @differentdimensionus "Everything I Brew, I Brew It for You" (this whole collection was stunning, but the tone of bluish grey with the tiny holographic flakes made this feel like a rainy day curled up with a cup of tea) 💚 @colorclubnaillacquer "Jardin Green" (I found myself using this one again and again because it is the perfect cool-toned compliment to many of my favorite leaf greens; it added wonderful variety to the leafy nail art that I love!) 💚 @roguelacquer "Neon Lights" (on top of the rad little black flakies, this is the best formula on a yellow [and this whole collection has the best formula for neons] that I have ever used - luscious and buttery and two easy coats!) 💚 @moonshinemani "Out for What Do You Need That Gun?" (this polish is divine! The ethereal flakes are so magical - the reformulated version is beautiful too, but the original still holds my heart) 💚 @lynbdesigns "Picture It ... Sicily" (thermals with flakies from Lyn B Designs are such a joy, and the color transition of this shade is soothing and calming) 💚 Moon Shine Mani "Secret Garden" (the shimmer in here is large enough to play well with the flakies and add some really nice visual play. I love the contrast between the muted green base and the blues and purples nestled in there!) 💚 @polishedfordays "Soft Focus - Plum Taupe" (excellent as a base for nail art or a quick two coat manicure that has the base built in!) 今日は午前中ヤンの在留カードの住所更新をして、その足でThe Plant Societyに行ってきました。 清澄白河行くの久しぶり。 同じ東京でもその町の持つ雰囲気ってなんでこんなにも違うのか。 似たような家、どこにでもあるチェーンの飲食店やコンビニで構成されてるのに、流れてる空気が全然違うように思える。 ちなみに東京で4回、神奈川で1回引っ越ししたけど今住んでるところが一番お気に入り。 部屋が今まで住んだどの部屋よりもいいってのもあるかもしれないけど、 周辺の環境含む住環境で全然気の持ちようというかQOLって違ってくるんだなと感じた。 お目当てのThe Plant Societyは、思ってたよりもこじんまりしたスペースだったけど、欲しかったブルースターファーンもちゃんとありました。 ただボリューム感が思ってたのと違って、もう少し色々見てから決めようってことで見送り。てことで今回は偵察のみで終了！ 季節によっても入荷するグリーン変わるだろうし、また機会があれば近いから覗いてみよう。 その後は近所のカフェをフラフラ。でもどこも混んでて結局家の方向へ戻ることに。 天気も良くて久しぶりに散歩で体を動かせたので大満足。 そういえば今月末でヤンと出会って2年半が経とうとしてるけど、 ちょうどこの間の夜話してて、 あ、今多分私たちトランジションの真っ只中に居るな。って感じた。 ヤンから見える日本での仕事や暮らしの見方がだんだん私のそれに近づいてきたなと。 私をハッとさせたヤンの一言が”dying inside” まさにそれですね。数年前まで私が感じていた気持ち。 働いてご飯食べて寝て、普通に生活してるんだけど、心が死んでるんですよね。 少し距離を取っていればこんなに暮らしやすいとこはないと思うけど、 その視点になってきたってことは良くも悪くもヤンの中で変化が起きてて、 日本の文化を外側からではなく内側から見始めた証拠なんだと思う。 いろんな感情や不平不満を聞きながら、もっと良くしていけそうだなって色々考えた夜でした。
