2014 was a strange period of my artistic growth, but an important one. This was also the time in which Lupin the Third entered my life like a ton of bricks. There's aspects of this I still like, so I suppose it's worth posting. It has sentimental value.

This is a screenshot of a phone background I made for myself a couple years back and sadly I'm not sure I'll be able to ever access the original again. It's on a laptop that's uhhhh seen better days. But if I ever manage to get to it it's over for y'all, if I remember correctly I got soooooooOOOOOO much Lupin art on there

which Lupin color scheme is your favorite? Of all his fits, what’s the best one
hehe finally popped back on and checked my box
My favorite is red jacket based on looks purely. It's perfect for him. It's flashy, bold, unique. Symbolization wise, red says hes passionate, dangerous yet full of all of the different loves all at once. Red is unapologetic yet can easily be a mask by hiding more subtle traits. Classic diversion tactic by thieves and magicians alike. Be so loud to the right that they don't even think about the slight of hand happening on the left kind of a deal.
But hear me out, not your classic pt 2. I really dig the Manga fit. Specifically the one below. Black shirt, black pants, leather belt and shoes, with a red striped gold knit tie.
just assume I'm mentioning the silver tie clip in all these descriptions
Second place is green jacket from pt 1. Still flashy still dapper and completely unique to him yet toned down more calm. Green seems to be more calculating, less bombastic as red or pink. I liken green jacket to be more toward the later part of of his mid career. Pt 6 is alright, it fits the story arc as it is more muted in vibrancy, and its color pallete more intricate. A dirty plum shirt, yellow ochre knit tie, green blue jacket, taupe leather belt and shoes with squirrel grey dress pants.
Where as pt 1 is much more simple, black shirt, yellow knit tie, Kelly Green jacket, umber leather belt and shoes with a dark navy blue jeans or dress pants.
As chaotic as Lupin is, he can break down anything into the simplest form and use that simplicity against you. I think his character designs should reflect that. Simplistic Chaos.
Not really a fan of blue jacket. Don't care whether it's red tie or the magenta tie. Blue is too easy on the eyes, common. It's looks fine, but he blends in with everyone else . I. The business world lots of business people where blue blazers. It's safe. Sharp attire. But too safe for lupin. For TWO series. Anywho I digress. It would have been fine for one series or the other but not for pt 4 and 5.
On a side note- I can't tell you how much I Love Lupin iii and the fact that they are willing to bend and morph and experiment with all of the characters clothing. They aren't stuck as ONE or TWO outfits like many many many other shows, eastern or western. I also really like how they don't change the Main theme. They got gold right there and are so smart to just give variations of that theme for the specials/ series/ movies, and leave the experimentation outlying new soundtracks for inside the film. In the background, blended.
I love pretty much all of lupins outfits. Some more than others, but yeah.
Anywho finally got to share some of my Lupin outfit picture collection yeee
