I snapped this pic while trecking with my love across the New Zealand Alps. This wonderful vision was on the Routeburn Track. We did the Grand Traverse, a combination of two Great Walks, the Routeburn Track and the Greenstone Valley Track.

Throughout the road there are many places which are worth a visit. The Bridge to Nowhere, which is a concrete bridge in the middle of the forest symbolize the failed integration of the region.
Lower in the banks lies Tieke Kainga, the living Maori village. If the residents are home, they welcome the visitors in a traditional way.
The Whanganui National Park is a unique place, where nature provides surprises in every corner. waterfalls are falling from the banks, birds are singing everywhere, and at night the clear sky shows thousands of stars to shine.
Water is the most destructive force on Earth. I’ve witnessed its awesome fury in the Japanese fishing village of Minamisanriku following the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. I’ve seen entire towns returned to bare Earth by the tidal surge of Hurricane Katrina. But God, when he sequesters it and remands it to the banks of the backcountry canyon or gorge, creates his most beautiful masterpiece in nature.
I snapped this picture of the Routeburn River in New Zealand just after the North and Left creeks merge—perhaps the most beautiful natural wonder my eyes have seen, unbridled snowmelt harnessed into exquisite perfection. It is one of those rare moments of clarity in life when you know, in that very present time, you are witnessing something grand.
